Incredible mellow sound for a plastic flute ~ very low and bluesy. I don't have enormous hands and can just manage with piper's grip, but being a wide bore and quite long you will have trouble with smaller hands. Nevertheless if this is the sort of thing you are looking for, then for the price it is an absolute bargain! 100%.

I love this whistle! It's close spacing holes make it easy to play as a person with small hands, and it sounds amazing. My only qualm was that one of the o-rings was broken upon arrival, but after contacting Big Whistle and Carbony, they sent me new ones for free.

I love this whistle. As a beginner it's such a joy to practise as it's so responsive, resonant. Only a slight extra air pressure and it breaks into the higher octaves so fluidly and seamlessly. It even seems to know when you want the higher note This is a well-made accumulation of years of improvements and thus the tone and overall feel of this whistle is very pleasing.
