The Escalante Racer has been my go to road running shoe for several years now. It's simple, light and smooth and great for training and racing, I have not needed any other road running shoes since these came out.

UPDATE: I'm writing this review to follow up my original review. In that earlier review, I expressed my disappointment that one of my new FWD Via shoes had started to fall apart after less than 2 months moderate use (you'll find that review under my name). However since then, I reached out to the team at Altra about the issue and they responded brilliantly. It's clear that they take the reputation of their shoes very seriously. They have successfully turned one dissatisfied customer into a very happy customer. I'll shop with Altra again.

Size 11. 5 Midfoot volume good. Toe height good. Too long. Very comfortable but not used to loose fit. Kicking shopping trolley wheels. Size 11 Comfortable and secure. Midfoot pain if laces too tight. With thin upper you can feel the rain but it does stay dry.

I’ve been really impressed with these. They’re incredibly comfortable, light, and just seem to disappear on your feet once you get moving. The natural feel suits the way I like to run, and they’ve handled everything from road to light trails without issue. Shipping was fast, efficient, and hassle-free. Honestly, I wouldn’t wear anything else now.
