I have know idea who makes Springfield Leather Company's machine thread. Since I switched to machine sewing vs hand stitching , its definitely been a learning experience. Lots of patience and tolerance. On a side note, my first industrial sewing machine is a Mercury m-337. This machine was set up for sewing canvas not leather. I had too upgrade to a servo motor and speed reducer. In that process I had to remodel my sewing table as well. I can't thank David enough from Leather Machine Co for walking me through that process. I've since upgraded to a Cobra Class 26. It's probably user error, however the class 26 seems a bit picky when it comes to thread. Especially when changing from veg tan to chrome tanned leather . My biggest problem has been thread fraying and breaking. I've tried all different types of needle sizes / gauges to thread sizes and manufacturers. You don't know what you don't know. I even tried silicone thread oil with an oil dispenser thingy. Same issues just more oil on everything. I also put my thread in a can and saturated the thread in oil and ran it that way for a few projects. I'm still not opposed to the can trick. If I could get my hands on a wax pot, I'd like to try that as well. So long story short, since I've been using the thread from Springfield Leather Co , I haven't had any issues with my thread breaking or fraying. Leather Machine Co thread works great too. However, this thread issue I've had could be centered in my mind. As I work through all my sewing machine issues , my sewing skills and sewing machine trouble shooting has drastically improved. I really don't know if its a thread thing or user error thing, as far as I'm concerned your machine thread is manufactured with magic. My scrap leather bin is piling up and my shop floor isn't full of thread cuttings. Something is definitely working . It's probably the magic thread from Springfield Leather Co
Great quality, packaged and shipped in adequate time.
Great way to save money on great leather. Very satisfied with my purchase.
Very happy with Springfield Leather Co. ! I already have more on order!
The leather took a while to receive compared to other places I have ordered from online. The leather also had quite a few imperfections that made it difficult to use all of it.
Always Good service. .
