budget software with enough function
i'm not a professional designer. The cost is excellent for my use. In fact the functions are much more than I can use. So I think it should be great for professional designer

Got accustomed to it
I have been using the prog for about 10 y now. It was a very cheap alternative back then to the "bigger" ones like autocad, and imported many formats and files easily. Unfortunately, it is no longer so. Quite often, importing DWGs or DXFs will bring it into a loop. Certain 3D objects do so, but I could figure out which ones. Sometimes it is a tedious process, re-saving files with Acme or Teigha until TurboCAD will finally read it. Another minus is that I had to buy the platinum version. I really need the "logical select" function which is ONLY available in the top version. I will NEVER use 80% of it functions. So I am carrying this big chunk of code, probabling slowing down the app, for nothing. For me, a 2D version would be enough. The biggest disadvantage is that it is not availabe for Linux. I like the palettes. The layer palette is really good now. All in all, it does the work I need, and I am reasonably quick with it now.

TurboCAD Deluxe 2016 and DesignCAD V.25
Both excellent products very handy and useful if you spend time designing projects. TurboCad is a little more sophisticated, probably slightly more powerful than a casual home user would normally need, but in my experience it is better to have the extra power and not need it, than to need it and not have it. The only criticism I have of either product is the lack of a comprehensive printed reference manual; that being said...there is a plethora of information on both programs in video format and a training course on DVD. I'm older than dirt, so I like manuals. The programs are somewhat intuitive if you listen carefully to the video instructions, but it does require some effort and concentration and can be quite frustrating if you're in a hurry to use a singe feature or tool. There's also a Wiki out there which can be helpful. The help menu has limited utility, but is handy, if not well enough organized by function and tool. All things considered if you need a mid level CAD program to render and design in 2d and 3d objects TurboCAD will serve you well. If you need something a little simpler, then DesignCAD will do the job well. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the lack of a printed manual. For younger users this may not be a problem at all.

Just upgraded again to TurboCAD Pro Platinum 21
I have been using Turbocad since version 6, then 12, then 15 and now 21 and it just keeps getting better with every release. The cost of upgrading is very reasonable when compared to other packages and I get professional-level results!. I designed a 3-Axis CNC router in TurboCAD Pro Platinum 15 using the 3D solid-modelling facilities, exported the file as an STP and gave it to my cousin who is a design engineer using CATIA and everything was imported correctly and without errors. Pretty good I'd say!

Great 3D for Mac
So far, the best 3D Cad for the entry level user.

No I Did Not!
Last month I purchased turbocad for windows still working my way thru the program seems as if it has lots of potential but it's very different from AutoCad.

Design in 3D at a price a hobbyist can afford.
Turbocad Deluxe has all the features I need to design in 3D, produce dimensioned drawings and output STL and DWG files for CAM. One runs into many questions when learning a program of this complexity. I have been able to quickly find answers because of the large amount of good quality information about the program available on the web.

Just learning to use a good product
I bought TurboCAD because AutoDesk eliminated the permanent license for AutoCAD. I am just learning to use TurboCAD, but it appears to deliver everything that it advertises. I am very, very pleased with the clean display and speed of refreshes. SparkyTom, 29Jun16

Design CAD 64bit 2d
Thanks so mush for continuing to update and support this program.. I have been using your platform for about 15 years as original Via CAD... I a have nothing but good things to say about your product. All the basic interactive features I have used and at such a reasonable cost. I love the new drag and drop icons window.. All my custom icons with images don't need to remember the file names now.. Great import export.. I have had problem printing an imbeded .img file to my Hp Designjet printer.. and page prints fine to laser printer but I assume this is a printer driver problem. I am a Mech. foodservice designer and have referred many others beginning CAD to try your program. Thanks Mark F.

Great tools...a bit of a learning curve
I believe this is an excellent CAD program. It offers more than enough tools to get the task done. I have a degree in mechanical drafting. Although I received the degree 20 years ago and have not used Autocad since. I knew what tools to look for. They were all there. It just took me a while to figure out how to use some of them. Like anything the more you use it the better you get at it. I designed two complex parts to have cut on a waterjet. They both turned out great. Now that I know TurboCad's capabilities I will be using it more. For the price and knowing that there was a learning curve, you can't beat the value. Well done!

Not for me
I purchased to draw blueprints, the program was not what I was looking for. The company promptly refunded the purchase. Customer service was great. Thanks Chris

Confused
The program was great when it was working properly. No audio, was also a problem. I am an old guy trying to make some extra money. Thought I might get my feet wet with Turbocad but then decided to try DesignCad. Having more luck.

Excellent purchase experience
My recent experience of upgrading TurboCAD was pleasant in every way. The sales rep was very helpful, friendly, and no pressure. The upgrade price was very attractive. A positive experience all around.

Thanks for keeping the interface familiar so I could go right to work.

Meets my needs
I use 2D modeling for drafting related to model ship building, and TurboCad Designer does everything I need. The only issue I’ve had is that it sometimes does not create a perpendicular from inside a curve, while other times it does. Don’t know why this happens and it’s annoying.
