I started with the FAR textbook and found various grammatical errors and explanation failures. Some examples just provided numbers and no explanation as to how such numbers were attained. The thought train seems to skip as if multiple writers worked on the book and didn’t consult one another. It’s a good knowledge soup but tonight to follow at times. Needs to be more concise and explanations for everything. Pretend you’re explaining it to an “idiot” (take that with a grain of salt). Thanks.

Simple, understandable, quick

This may have not been the correct study package for me. I am a very detail oriented person and need more details to be able to grasp the material. I am currently studying for FAR, and the Surgent book does not help me at all. I had to go and buy the book for Wiley's. I am not strain to Surgent since I cannot afford another supplier. I am really anxious regarding the preparation of the exam

Well explaining concept

Price was good comapred to others however the flashcards were not up to date as promised. There were some cards in regards to federal securities regulation 505 which no longer exists

Good stuff

I finally passed all of my CPA exams after 8 years of testing. I took my last exam in July 2017 and was notified I passed in September 2017. I am still in state of shock that I am finally done testing. I don’t remember how many times I took each test, but I know it was 3 times or more for each section. I am certain the methodology used by Surgent is what got me there. I didn’t waste time reviewing hours of videos, or materials that I already knew. Rather, my studies were focused in the areas I needed to review. The most noteworthy cause for celebration is that I thought I would be spending my maternity leave studying and passing the last two exams. I had passed two and had two left. I was determined to be done, and while I had a break from work I was committed to finally accomplishing the goal I had set for myself so many years ago. My baby girl was born on August 11th. As I had so many times in the past, I prepared myself for the inevitable low 70’s score. I checked my score on August 17th and had to blink a few times to clear my vision. Rather than studying, I got to peacefully hold and enjoy my baby girl. Lastly, I want to add I had used so many different materials with so many unsuccessful attempts (Roger, parts of Becker, Lambers, Gleim books and questions, Ninja notes). Surgent was the one for me! I have said, even though I had several test attempts, I never failed because I never gave up. I am beyond thankful to be done testing, and even more thankful for Surgent CPA materials!

So far so good. The only thing is I don't see notes to be printed.

With Surgent I was able to pass my last two exams, my only critique would be to perfect the sims so they mirror the actual test 100% and increase the difficulty of the simulations as well. Otherwise the adaptive software and the format of the multiple choice questions were excellent. I would also try to create a choice of 30 or 35 questions sections instead of just 25 or 50 to better simulate the test environment. Thank you Surgent, because of this program I am a CPA!
