No longer a customer of this company
I had one simple question about a water filter I have. I thought oh simple enough, I’ll just contact the company but in order to be more efficient they no longer take questions over the phone. More efficient for who? Certainly not their customers who they obviously don’t care about. In order for me to be more efficient in asking my question, I called customer service, waited for my prompts, selected said prompts, was told that my call would not be answered as they no longer take inquiries over the phone. I now have to stop what I’m doing, find my iPad, turn it on, open the site, figure out just where to ask my 5 second question, type it out, then as I don’t get anywhere with my question I say forget it, and decide I don’t have any interest in supporting this company any longer. You’ve now lost a long time customer simply because no one could answer a simple question. Absolutely ridiculous.

Haven’t even had a chance to use it!?!
I received my brand new cot today. Assembled it per the directions and video. I got on it from the side as directed, two feet snapped. I mean, this was way to fast to break and in a controlled environment? WTH?!?

Wrong size
I bought the classic valve repair kit, but my thermarest needs a larger valve. It is a 20x72 inch pad from REI. Is there a replacement valve for it?

MSR does not believe in reduce, reuse, repair, recycle
REDUCE, REUSE, REPAIR, RECYCLE has long been my mantra. I drive a 1990 Dodge van with 286K miles which runs great. I recently re-rejuvenated a 65 year old Coleman gas stove by replacing key parts which I procured from Coleman. I broke the plunger on my MSR fuel pump and MSR tells me if it is in warranty they will repair it better than new for a price almost equivalent to buying a new pump. I just want a $5 plunger and I will repair it myself. Maybe I can epoxy it. This makes me RETHINK MSR. Nor would they accept this comment with zero stars - i mean zero has be in our number system for a long time.

Quality seems good and packs down small
So far I've used this for two nights. It's a good pillow and it packs down small. Just a few things I wish I knew before buying: 1) It's not really the greatest for side sleepers, it's not tall enough to support your head. I wish Thermarest would make a camp pillow specific for side sleepers that was taller and shorter maybe? 2) This has a tendency to slip out from under me at night. Not really the pillow's fault and I know that some bags have spots for pillows, but mine doesn't 3) The down layer on top is quite thin, almost not noticeable. It may be warmer in cooler weather, but I haven't noticed a difference or need for the down.

Old one was far better—without cinch
Old pillow was really perfect. Not sure why changed. Just makes it more uncomfortable with multiple little pieces of plastic digging in here and there. Last thing you want on a pillow. Very disappointed. Have the old one and love it. Wife is using so hot this one for myself:(. Wish I could trade it for an old one.

Poor production, Cutting costs? Poor Customer care.
I purchased a Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Xtherm Regular Sleeping Mat on 22/03/2022 The mattress is exactly what it says it is, it is warm and comfortable. The negative review is to do with the acclaimed pump sack that Thermarest includes that assists with the pumping up of the sack. Previous pump sacks have their seams sealed giving a sack that will pump up a mattress in 10-12 pumps. The company has now decided to not seal the seams and now it takes 30-40 pumps to inflate the mattress. As you can imagine at the end of the day during an expedition this can be a disheartening. I will point out that a mat bought 18 months ago did have a pump sack with sealed seams that only takes 10 – 12 pumps to inflate. I thought it was just a quality control issue, but this is the official response I received from customer service. ‘This is normal. The seams are not sealed. The pump sac is used as an aid to inflate your mattress. This the way all of our pump sacs are now manufactured’ It is disappointing that a company with so many years of a quality products have decided to cheapen a £200.00 product by cutting corners and producing a pump sack not fit for purpose.

Hahaha 2 years limited warranty
2 years limited warranty and it takes 1 year for them to sort it out and send back. There are better sleeping pads out there. Super disappointed with their service.

Simple Solution
I received these, but unfortunately I have been unable to use them since the snowshoes were on backorder and the snow season has ended. So I can only provide a four star rating at this time. However, the design looks simple and should work well.

The new version is way less durable
The MSR Hubba Hubba used to be the perfect balance of weight and durability. People liked it because you could rely on it in some of the worst conditions. But, the new design uses materials that are too lightweight, resulting in multiple gear failures: - the adhesive holding the sleeve that joined two poles failed within 3 uses, so we went back to using our old Hubba Hubba aluminum poles - the fabric had multiple holes within a month The only thing I like more about this new version is the storage bag

buckles/bindings come loose , can't put poles in suitcase, need backpack that holds poles and shoes as checked airline bags.
The bindings came undone over and over again. The buckle hook is NOT long enough to secure the straps. Shoes too wide for this 5'1" woman. Otherwise, rugged and great traction but the bindings are terrible. Also, the poles in the kit DO NOT collapse short enough for checked airline luggage. Please redesign buckles/straps and make a fully closeable airline case for this kit. All poles should shrink down to fit in a standard airline carry on or checked bag. So bummed. Had to return.

MSR Hubba Hubba 1p - used to be my favorite tent
I've been using the MSR Hubba Hubba 1p for maybe 15 years now (used to be called the MSR Hubba). There's lots to love about this tent. The materials are solid, it's completely free-standing, great ventilation (or at least it used to), and it's large enough for my 6'3" body to sleep and to sit up comfortably. There are lighter tents out there, but I've found I prefer a few extra ounces when it gives me peace of mind when on less than ideal terrain and when I'm in the rain. Here's what I don't understand about this latest version. Why did MSR get rid of all the mesh and replace it with nylon, leaving only tiny windows??? The mesh surround is one of my favorite parts. On a clear night, it gives you great visibility. And when the fly is on you get great ventilation. In fact I'm seeing reviews saying that this newer version has some ventilation problems. My first MSR Hubba Hubba 1p finally died and this year I replaced it - but did so only after finding an older version on clearance (the MSR Hubba Hubba NX 1p). My hope is that by the time I need another replacement, that MSR will have returned the Hubba to its original design.

Almost zero flow rate
I was so excited for this filter. The specs looked amazing. Unfortunately, the filter has an almost zero flow rate. I have to squeeze the bag with every ounce of strength I have to get a slight trickle. Reading other reviews it seems many others are having this problem. Has Platypus fired their quality control team? What the heck is going on over there that you’d release defective filters en masse, then have zero information about a recall for them on your site???Incredibly disappointed with my first platypus purchase. Warranty Department is estimating a TWELVE WEEK wait for assessment. Unacceptable, and dangerous. Avoid.

Purchased it on-line and it
Purchased it on-line and it was delivered promptly. I wish that I had purchased it just before my canoe trip to ensure that I could try it within the first 30 days. I returned it a couple of weeks ago - no word yet, hoping for a refund.
