My new OptixCam Xposure 5.0
My new OptixCam Xposure 5.0 is wonderful! It is SO much nicer than my Amscope MD200 and my OptixCam Summit. I wish I wouldn't have wasted the money on those two cameras. The S-Eye 2.0 software is awesome compared to ToupView. Thanks for a great affordable camera!

Your history of microscopes
Very interesting & informative history of microscopes, but eye-rollingly sexist and out of date with the comments about boys loving to play with magnifying glasses (& set ants on fire), as if girls have no interest in science. The writer should research this (women in science) & update the article, as some of the greatest scientists in history were women, and there are thousands of women scientists today. Girls like to play with scientific toys just as do boys (altho burning ants sounds like a story from the 1920s or so, back when boyhood cruelty was dismissed as “boys will be boys.” My grandfather was an entomologist for the US Dept of Agriculture, & taught us respect for nature, not cruelty).

Great Customer Service!
I bought a microscope for my kids for Christmas and the light wasn't working. I called and talked to a real person (not an automated system) and even thought the purchase was a from a couple months ago (waiting for Christmas) they helped me troubleshoot and ultimately sent me a replacement part. Best customer service I've received in a long time! Thank you! The gift was a hit!!

WOW...great product, great service totally satisfied
I never write reviews. This is an exception. I purchased a stereo microscope model SM745NTP. This is THE scope for surface mount soldering. I also purchased the Barlow 0.5x (SM05-V203) lens, the 144 LED light (LED-144A with 4 quadrant lighting) very happy with this light and highly recommend it, 3 MP Camera (MA300) and the articulating arm (ASC-NF) and associated head focus ring (FR-HGA3 76mm for head mount ). This arm and scope are mounted to an adjustable bench (Seville Classic Ultra HD 72"x25" weight about 150 lbs, 1.5" thick top), height set to 36.5", with a stool set to 27", I am 5"11". This is a very comfortable setup, very natural posture when working. I have measured the working height (table top to bottom of Barlow lens) to be about 7.5" fully zoomed out. I have read reviews that the Articulating arm must be mounted so you don't get vibrations, mine is solid as a rock, I live in a house with sub-floors and my wife can walk into the office I get some vibration, but if she is in the hall outside the office it is not seen. I have noticed a small sag but that is only due to the positive spring loading before you add the weight of the scope. I had reservations and was ready to send it back if it was not working, trust me I'm very picky and this is THE way to go for mounting. My bench is 12" from the wall (end of bench to wall), and the arm/scope are mounted to the rear right side, it stows very nicely over the open area, in a protected area and is ready to swing over to do work. I also tested to arm ability to "hold position and focus". I got the scope focused, then moved the head in several directions (laterally) and came back over the PCB I was working on and it remained in focus. I have not tried the camera yet but will update the review with that. Also, Anthony in Customer Service is awesome, I had ordered the incorrect scope in the beginning and I will send that one back tomorrow. All in all, I am very happy with this company, it's customer service (don't c...
