I had a very interesting
I had a very interesting interaction with this place. I talked to Nida Ortega at Hawaii Medical College about how and where I should look for a summer internship to help with my career path and within a few days, she was able to set up a flexible internship with Orthopedic Associates. I was able to follow orthopedic surgeons throughout their medical offices and learned a lot about what they do and also about what I want to do with my career in the future. Thanks to Nida and Hawaii Medical College, I am now more motivated to pursue my career in the medical field.

As a graduate of HMC,
As a graduate of HMC, I am so grateful for the experience I had. The resources are there, teachers are available to help you, and small class sizes were good for me. Now I'm working as a Medical Assistant and happy.

I'm very happy if received
I'm very happy if received my education here 2011. I attended this school in there early years, before the iPad. Lol. The teachers and all the staff knows u by name and very interested in ur future. I've grown to become a successful CCMA and always look forward to have future students intern with my department! This school has the right skills and mindset to becoming a qualified medical assistant. The discipline and hard work pays off and it shows over other school that won't compare. Often times I visit the class to guest speak to their motivated pupils. I will always be a supporter. The plus side and most important is their willing to help students FIND employment after and or during their challenges. So, for all students who are still seeking a position, please keep in contact with the school..As far as the job placement..HMI doesn't hire the student, the employer does. However, HMI will give u options of place of employers that are hiring, resume building, interview practicing and tool to get a job. It is the student to actually go on to the interview and show the potential employer that they are the best candidate for that position. So, if you are still looking for position, don't stop. Keep HMI in the loop of ur trials and they will keep offering you help. I've read some comments that are saying they are not working yet.. Sometime the student has to do the leg work. Nothing is given to you, you have to work for your dreams, HMI creates opportunity and skills to help there. They are always looking out for ur best. Never give up! Current student, be positive and the end goal will be worth it!

Big Mahalo to the staff
Big Mahalo to the staff for the support. I admit, there are a few instructors that had difficult personalities, but majority of them are absolutely awesome. I like the fact that I can got back and sit in on classes for updates or to refresh on certain areas without having to pay another full tuition. They follow up to see how I am doing and where I am working at. I graduated in 2012 and they still keep in touch.

I am so happy that
I am so happy that my daughter chose to attend Hawaii Medical College. My daughter is in her final module of the CMA program. And she is externing at the site of her choice. It is so great that when she comes home and I asked how her day went, she says "Awesome!" It has not been easy for her. First she had to learn that it was okay to ask for help. When she finally did, she found that her instructors were more than happy to provide additional tutoring for her problem areas. Where before it looked to me that she may not survive this intensive program; today she carries a 3.2 GPA. Her certifications have given her the courage and competency to move ahead in her course work. As she studies for her final certification, she has additional help from her externship instructors. Now she wants to continue with her Associates Degree, knowing that it will eventually lead to her medical doctorate. It has been great for me as a parent to watch my baby grow into her confidence, knowledge, professionalism and determination to continue on to help others in the medical industry. I highly recommend the Hawaii Medical College - whether it is just for a quick "get hired" certification program or the first step into the healthcare industry.

Education is always important. This
Education is always important. This school does have great teachers and some lazy teachers. I don't know any school that has only perfect teachers. The school has a unique model of education- it is purpose education. Learn everything needed to pass a certification so that you can get a job immediately in the medical field. Education designed for specific types of students for specific types of jobs. Students, if they listen to their teachers, will have the tools needed to pass and hold good medical certifications. Once they do that they can go on to getting real jobs in the medical fields. The army does this- teach people 1 specific part of one thing, usually though this does not transfer into day to day daily life in American civilian life (except for airline pilots and a very few other jobs). I don't believe the first review that says there is no job placement- they really do want to follow up and see what work you find, it is in the schools best interest to know if you got a job. So being open to the school and sharing information and having a dialogue is important in school and after school. The other review that brings up pros and cons is plausible. Different students can experience different things. When I went to NIU, there were good teachers and jerks. The ones that really took their time with me though really helped me. Just like here- there can be good teachers and bad teachers and knowing who to go to is so important. This school is so small that everyone should be able to find a mentor that they like and get to know them over the year or so at the school so that when the time comes for asking for real help then the relationship is already strong enough to get to the point where things need to be so that everyone can get great employment. Every student will have a different experience, that is the beauty of school. WE all learn a little differently. We all need though the experiences of a good education. Is this school as good as UHM ...

HMC is an awesome school
HMC is an awesome school to attend. The staffs/instructors are there 100% to help you with everything and any of your concerns. The staffs are there to help you with the admissions process. You can ask any of the instructors as your resources. The programs that they offer are so much in detailed. It's a fast way of getting done in college and getting your certificates. Again, I highly recommend people to attend HMC, it's only 1 year of schooling, offers externship towards the end of your program, flexible schedules, staffs/instructors are super friendly and little expensive but WORTH IT!!! So what are you waiting for? Call now and make an appointment. :)

My wife attends Hawaii Medical
My wife attends Hawaii Medical College and the school has made a difference in not only her life, but all our lives, yes it takes dedication, time, and of course money, any school you attend will be costly. That is why you research before you commit. She studies all the time, she stresses all the time, it is a fast pace school, but we all knew it from the beginning. Nothing in life is easy, it depends on the individual, my wife has no regrets. We have no regrets in choosing Hawaii Medical College. If we had to do it over, I still would tell my wife this is the way to go. My wife always tells me how proud she is of the school and how each instructor has made it very clear that they are available should any of the students need additional help. She is very proud of her accomplishments and feels if she had attended a different school, she would be lost.. I truly would recommend Hawaii Medical College because those that know my wife know she was anti-college, but now she has an entire knew outlook and it's because of what she has gained through Hawaii Medical College. Bottom line is be ready to work hard, to be committed, to be pushed to the extreme, nothing in life is cheap, what you gain is what you put in.
