Incredible Journey
We just completed Inside Vietnam, as well as the pre-trip to the Hill Tribes of North Vietnam. We were astounded by the rich culture and peoples of this country, especially the contrasts between the simple life of northern hill tribe peoples and city-dwellers. The historical sites, cuisine, traditional crafts and services were impressive. Our Trip Leader, Tho, did any incredible job of leading a diverse group of travelers, addressing questions and concerns quickly, anticipating our needs and sharing detailed facts about what we were seeing and experiencing. He was quite good at taking advantage of unscheduled opportunities to interact with locals, try new foods and have new experiences. His sharing stories of his own background added much color and passion to our experience, and his personable, direct approach made it easy to communicate with him. Tho was great at problem-solving and finding great alternatives to scheduled activities that couldn't be done because of factors out of his control. Tho's leadership is really what made this trip so memorable and satisfying.

Costa Rica parks and tropical forests
I’ve been on many tours with Country Walkers, This was my first with OAT. I’ve never had a better guide than Jeffry. He was knowledgeable, fun and added so many spontaneous moments by pulling locals into conversations with us. Was a fabulous mix of animals, birds and mixing with the people. Loved this tour in every way.

A Family Trip
We decided to celebrate our anniversary by taking our two sons and their families on an OAT trip. They decided on Morocco and I worked with the group department to put the trip together. Experience leader Abdemalek met us in Rabat and we set off to see Morocco from the inside. We toured every Medina and Souk we came to, We met nomads, shepherds and semi nomads along the road and in their homes. We were invited to tea wherever we went. Maybe the most interesting was in the tent of a widow along the road who Adbelmalek had befriended on a previous trip. Imagine the life of an elderly woman living alone in a tent on the edge of the Sahara. We were invited in to tea and to share her tent for the moment. We experienced home hospitality and Day in the Life with interesting people and managed to briefly see but avoid some major tourist sights from Game of Thrones. Most importantly we enjoyed seeing our children and grandchildren experience the kind of travel that OAT is known for. We enjoyed riding on camels in the Sahara and 4x4 travel to get around in the Sahara. And watching our grandchildren, all over 17, romp on the dunes, priceless.

South Africa & Swaziland: Kruger and the Garden Route
I loved this trip! This was my 31st trip (between OAT/GCT) and I absolutely loved it! I couldn't have asked for better or more. I had an excellent Trip Experience Leader in Lloyd M, a terrific group and an excellent, well- planned and well-executed itinerary. We had a perfect blend of city, country, culture, and safari. I did both the pre-trip to Entabeni and the post-trip to Victoria Falls and an optional tour to Chobe NP. On the last full day at Chobe, we saw the last of our Big 5, the elusive leopard. It was the perfect ending of my vacation. I learned and enjoyed so much!

As for itinerary: I would have liked 1 less day in Melbourne & included a beach/ocean experience; one more day in Sydney; reduce Daintree forest experience & add add’l animal sanctuary experiences-only had one! Many unique animals to see! GBR experience was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING (Agincourt reef) snorkeling & helicopter ride! Add tropical fruit farming experience (near Port Douglas). flying to Uluru and seeing sunset& sunrise was great. less 1 day in Wellington but Maori experience good in Wellington & Rotorua. Skip Hokitika or visit more west coast beaches instead of actually hanging around in Hokitika, Such as—Punakaiki. NZ would like to visit bird sanctuaries to actually see birds (saw almost none). Saw very little wildlife in NZ. Queenstown was great. Should add Dunedin. Add at least 1/2 day to Auckland by skipping bird sanctuary (saw no birds) located between Rotorua & Auckland. Add a water experience in Auckland or time to do America’s Cup experience. FOOD: very lacking in fresh vegetables, especially green salads, & fresh fruit. 5course dinner at Portlander in Wellington had 4 courses of meat and 1 dessert—very odd. Sheep farm herding & shearing experience was great. Wine country experiences were great. Boat cruises were great.

We have both referred to the Morocco Sahara Odyssey as the best trip we've ever taken. This was not a "tour," but an experience. We learned about Morocco from Moroccans, seeing the country through the eyes of the people who live there and do business there as well as what their home lives look like. This perspective has not been matched with any other tour group with which we are acquainted. This set a new standard for us for when we book future travel. The experience was greatly enhanced by our trusted leader Mostafa Boulaknadel. His knowledge and familiarity with the country and his ability to mold a diverse group of travelers into a tight knit band made the experience even more meaningful.

A great combination of nature and animals
This trip is a great combination of the Andes, the Amazon Rain Forest, and the Galapagos. Take the extension that visits Riobamba, Chimborazo, and Cuenca. You will see all varieties of habitat and animals in nature. Six nights in the Galapagos is like heaven on earth. Don’t choose other trips which only have four nights. That is not enough. If you love the big outdoors, this trip is for you.

Fabulous tour, great tour guide and wonderful people
My husband and I went on this tour in July 2019. We scheduled it in celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary and it didn't disappoint. Neither of us had been to the British Isles or Ireland, and we were excited by all of the opportunities the tour provided us to visit the places we'd heard of but never seen in person, and all the opportunities to see things we'd never heard of, such as Skara Brae (a 5000 year old village found in the Orkney Islands), the stone circles in the Orkneys and on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, black houses on the Isle of Lewis. We loved the train trip on the Isle of Man, the visit to Belfast and the black taxi tour, the visit to Dublin, a chance to see and hike the coastline of Wales and have lunch with a family there, the lovely Isles of Scilly, and, of course, London. Everyday was filled with thrilling adventures and new information. We learned, we saw, we touched and experienced. Thank you for enriching our lives beyond our dreams.

One of best trips ever, maybe the best period!
We really enjoyed our trip. Everything about it was just too perfect. Great guides, great hotels, great ship, and great food. What more could we ask for other than great sites and those too were excellent!

Ancient Kingdoms
The trip was very well organized with a comfortable pace. The guide, Mark, was the best ever! The countries are beautiful and the people most welcoming. It was very educational, especially Cambodia and Vietnam. The food was plentiful and excellent. I loved everything about this trip.

Inside Vietnam was definitely one of my favorite trips.
From Hanoi to Saigon and then posttrip to Cambodia, our tour itinerary was interesting and fun, our tour group great and our tour experience guide was fantastic. Tee made everyone of us feel “cared for”. He was so knowledgeable, and kept us all in line with a great sense of humor.

An extraordinary trip which exceeded my expectations in every way!!! It definitely is in the top 5 of my 23 trips with OAT/Grand Circle!! The guides were fantastic, and all the crew aboard the Clio were phenomenal in their service and friendliness...I'd give the trip a 12 on a 10 scale!!

Exceeded Our Expectations
We were not quite sure if it would be too cold, the seas rough, etc. It was cold but we dressed warmly and it was not a concern at all. And it was smooth sailing all the way. Our tour guide Barbara Denck was very knowledgeable and delightful. Captain Niksha and his crew were the best and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The planned activities we experienced really enhanced our appreciation of the already beautiful destinations.

Mediterranean Dreams
We just returned from cruising the coast of Croatia and Montenegro. This was a fantastic trip well suited to seniors with good mobility. The variety of activities offered on board as well as in the towns and villages we visited was incredible. We had lectures, local dancers, cooking demonstrations and movies. The home-hosted dinner offered a wonderful window into the everyday life of a Croatian family and their locally sourced, organic dinner left us all well sated. Our tour leader, Barbara, took care to insure that all passengers’ needs were met at all times. Barbara was extremely knowledgeable of the history, cultures, customs and languages spoken in our destinations. The local guides were also very skilled. The food rivaled any I have ever had on the 20+ cruises I have taken.

Wonderful cruise and outstanding tour leader
Fascinating wonderful cruise- the most caring staff imaginable. Our tour leader Hussein was not only super knowledgeable about the history but open and willing to discuss economics, politics and life in general. Tour was educational and FUN.

Wonderful visit to a unique region of Italy
I had visited Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast 6 years prior, fell in love with Italy and the Italian people at that time and vowed I would return once again to this beautiful country. This tour did not "duplicate" my prior experience; northern Italy is unique in many ways (food, geography, history, languages) due to its nearness to Switzerland and Austria. The Cinque Terre was as beautiful as the many photos and videos I'd seen prior to my visit. However, I must say it really isn't necessary to visit all five villages as the itinerary seems to suggest. Staying in Monterosso and visiting Riomaggiore (by train) and Corniglia (by 4x4) were enough. The remaining two villages (Vernazza and Manarola) were very similar in their seacoast location and street layouts to the other three. I regret that I did not stay back and spend my last full day in the Cinque Terre in Monterosso instead (or taken the train myself back to Riomaggiore) so I would have the time to sit, relax and truly experience a WHOLE DAY in one of these colorful villages, rather than just 2-3 hours. Unfortunately, I never got to Paris in time to see Notre Dame before it burned down, but the Milan Cathedral has to be a close second. Our hotel was ideally located only 2 blocks away, and was also convenient to the Castlello Sforzesco - a castle which easily filled my imagination with what life was like in 15th century Milan (IF you were the Duke of Milan, of course!). A visit to the castle was included on the walking tour I purchased separately from the website "www.tickitaly.com" in order to view the "Last Supper". The guide spoke English and the walking tour included visits to other areas of central Milan which our OAT group did NOT visit. Verona was a pleasant surprise to me. I'm not a big fan of large cities, but the central historical area of Verona was lovely, well-preserved and very easy to walk around in on your own. During your free afternoon I strongly suggest you walk across the river (on one of th...
