I bought a pair of khaki 511 urban tactical pants for a camping-hiking trip to Glacier National Park and they performed perfectly! They were cool enough to keep me comfy hiking in full sun on the Highline Trail. They were tough enough to get literally not one scratch while rock climbing-scrambling through dense, annoying brush shoving my way up the Lunch Creek Trail (if you can call it a "trail"). The side pocket is PERFECT for carrying a can of bear spray--no need for a holster (Hidden Lake Trail closed just past the lake: "bear activity" OK, boss!). They are trim enough to wear to work in a business-casual office. The ONLY ding is that they retain some grease-oil stains. My pants have accumulated a number of spots (cooking over a campfire can be messy) that won't come out no matter what. I just bought another pair, and I will coat them with some kind of stain blocker before my first wearing.

I’ve used their gear for years, from tactical pants and boots to duty bags and outerwear, and I can honestly say the quality is outstanding.

Love the products. The ONLY problem I have with 5. 11 is that you can not use your discount (military, LEO, first responder) in the store and have to order online. So its a hassle to go to the store to try things on just to end up going all the way back home just to order it. Then, on top of that, you can't "pick up in store" (at least I can't anyway) because unless the store reports more than 8 of a product (this is what the salesperson told me). . . it doesn't show my local store as an option. Which, in and of itself, is an issue if I want to just see if they have something in stock that I can go see without having to drive all the way to the store just to find out if something is or is not in stock. Its annoying.
