I couldn’t be happier with the design and functionality of my LT40 the robust design and ease of one man operation is second to none. The power, speed and accuracy of the machine is better than I was expecting.

October 7, 2025 I like the machine because it is not too simple and not to complicated. Because it is hydraulic it is easier for me to wrestle heavy logs onto the mill. However I do have a couple of complaints. . . it is impossible to determine how much fuel is in the gas tank. Who thought that was a good idea? And, you should have spent a few more dollars on a good paint primer that would minimize corrosion. There is minimal rust rot on the frame but lots of rot on the control box and the mill head. I hope that the mill will last for a long time.

Purchased my LT40Wide back in October of 2023. I absolutely love the mill with all of its features to simplify the milling process after a year of sawing on a LT15Wide manual mill. Both mills were of the highest quality with Woodmizer’s customer service is second to none!

I wish id waited and bought the wide but I was impatient and bought the standard lt40. Its a great mill and I really enjoy using it. Sometimes I just go out and que up a log and mill lumber just because i can😊

All aspects function as expected. Only suggestion is find a way to lower the height of the water tank. It is ergonomically in a bad location too high over the ground.

The debarker is the only pain breaker trip's often other than that it's restoring a 1790 home wouldn't be with out it

Great product very timely delivery

We had a manual mill and upgraded to the LT40Wide Hydraulic. Man, it is so good! Cuts great, much faster log manipulation and my back feels a lot better. Great mill!

Just a hobby sawyer but have enjoyed running the mill for close to 10 years. Built multiple projects with the lumber that it has produced. When you own one of these Mills’s you have no shortages of friends!!! The only thing I wise it would do better is with the debarker it will not work on any long smaller than 12”

The saw mill is well built, good power, however there are some issues with some of the features. The water jug system is garbage and I instantly rebuilt with aftermarket parts. The blade wheel belts are too loose right from factory, the instructions videos do not match current models.

I have had my saw mill for about 12 years I have put about 2000 hours on it . It has had minor problems . Belts , hoses ,tires . But I still use it some each week .

Thank you for the excellent blades you sent. So far the first blade has performed exceptionally well and one is very happy with the results. The packaging is also excellent. and one has now discovered a new means of securing the blades safely by using the round metal fastener that was sent with the blades.

3 rd owner of the 1988 lt 40. Good friend had it before me and I told him if he ever wanted to sell let me know. I have owned it for approx 15 years now. Excellent machine and wood mizer parts dept is always helpful when parts are needed.

I was very lucky being able to purchase this mill from a friends wife after he passed. He was the original owner from day 1 it is 34 years old, manufactured in 1991 . . . . I've owned it for a year and a half now works great fo all I need it for. Milling for friends and just myself, enjoy using it.

This sawmill is an outstanding peace of machinery! Works great and easy to use just after one hour of starting to use it. After many board feet later still loving it!! If had to do it over again I would most definitely purchase the mill again. Only negative I have is the laser adjustments. Not easy at all to get it aligned and keep it aligned. Believe a more precise adjustment system that will allow more accurate adjustment would be better. Thanks for a great sawmill!!

Having access to timber, and having friends with tree service companies, has kept me busy cutting cants to bring to my house to make lumber this fall and winter. Between planters for my wife, a small barn for my dad, and a larger barn for myself, I have plenty of projects to do. They had all been put off due to the cost of lumber, but with my Woodmizer, I have been able to create better lumber than I can buy. And each piece of lumber I cut, I am working my way to paying off the cost of the sawmill. I am so glad I got the fully hydraulic options, as it has allowed me to tackle larger logs that would have been too much for me to work by hand. The debarker has been invaluable since I am falling trees, dragging to a landing, then milling them into cants. Now, how about that resaw attachment. . . . .
