Im stoked!
I feel that finding the right course for oneself can be a challenge, because there are so many available and maybe there is a way to better organize recommendations, However, I feel it would be unfair to deduct a star just because of the amount of available content. Just be thorough in your search for the right course and make use of the sample lessons to see what you get. I feel there must be a course for everybody in their search for the next steps as a musician. I have a few courses and I am positively surprised how great some well known musicians teach and how open they are with their "business secrets". There are many great lessons to be found on TrueFire!
Great course! It offers a diversity of playing styles and approaches on country playing. As a little intermediate player I was challenged by the lessons which didn’t let me put my guitar aside. I would recommend this one to each intermediate player who is interested in country playing. As a (mostly) rock player, it was a refreshing and surprsing course to follow
.
Pat's course is fantastic, the concepts shared are sincere and work .
Great web site! It links all excellent players willing to share their knowledge. In a inexpensive course you get the fruit that has been ripening for years in the gardens of those players!
Great. I really like UI.
Coming of age as a musician in the pre-internet years, progress could be slow as one would have to spend countless precious hours tracking down information on various aspects of theory and technique. TrueFire provides an amazing opportunity to learn efficiently and directly from artists one admires; as a resource I frequently recommend it to my students.
Tony Franklin's fretless bass course is excellent - he gets me excited about playing my instrument. I would love to write a review but the Android app won't let me pick a score (this is on a Samsung so it's not a rare or obsolete device). Also the app sometimes fails to handle skipping back to earlier in a video.
Registering for the upcoming boot camp was a simple process and I am really looking forward to participating in!
Strengths TrueFire offers highly sophisticated learning tools, such as slow playback, looping, and synchronized notation/video features. These tools are well engineered and represent one of the platform’s strongest advantages. The service is particularly effective for intermediate to advanced players who wish to deeply explore and master specific, narrowly defined technical areas. Identified Challenges Due to the extensive volume of content, the overall site structure has become complex, making it easy for users to feel lost when navigating or searching for appropriate learning materials. The platform appears to assume that users can independently design their own learning paths. As a result, clearly defined progression paths for beginners are limited, which may discourage less experienced users from continuing. In addition, some fundamental concepts and musical terminology are intentionally omitted in beginner-level materials. This can create confusion for intermediate users who want to revisit and reorganize their foundational knowledge in a more systematic way. When users attempt to relearn skills in a structured and comprehensive manner, many existing online music education platforms—including TrueFire—may feel insufficient. In such cases, users often begin designing their own practice routines, which can ultimately lead them away from paid learning services altogether. Areas for Improvement Customer support could be strengthened, particularly in handling complex or non-standard application issues. In some cases, nuanced technical problems appear to be treated as simple issues, resulting in repeated or templated responses rather than tailored solutions. From a learning efficiency perspective, the current content focus tends to lean either toward song-based practice (or short etudes) or toward artist-specific stylistic instruction. While both are valuable, this approach makes it difficult to study systematically. There is a noticeable lack of fundamental...
Pick a lesson, get better. What you want is available. So dream big and grow with excellent instructors.
Excellent app. Great value for the money. Lessons are awesome.
Truefire is definitely a good resource for serious wannabe guitar players from beginners to pros, no matter the music style. Fast service and good support!
Great learning lessons and drills. Daily practice using this method equals steady progress and success!
Love tfe videos. I have learned more in a few months than anywhere else on the web.
Very helpfully!
Overall, I like Truefire a lot! Amazing instructors - both celebrities and educators. Great collection of skills and genres. The site maybe a little complicated but it's OK, I think, given the amount of materials available. Desktop and mobile apps are awesome and very helpful.
new to guitar so far so good
I really like the true fire lessons, especially the fact that you now also feature some of both the Jamplay and Artist works libraries and the all access yearly subscription service is a great value.
