Have had several pleasant conversations with Traveler Guitar Customer Service. I hope they will seriously consider my comments: First, please note that I love my Traveler Ultralight Bass -- it has gone with me from the US to Europe three times, and driven all over New England and eastern Canada. The gig bag, however, should be re-designed to incorporate a suitable amount of padding at the lower end -- the part most likely to suffer from routine handling or a drop. The fact that the 1/4" jack sticks out from the body makes it extra vulnerable AND puts concentrated stress on the bag zipper from the inside. That's exactly what happened to mine after a few years: the spot where the jack contacts the zipper led to separation of the stitching, and at some point a drop left the jack bent, but functional. If I were in charge* I'd change it so the zipper doesn't extend all the way around the bottom. The gig bag doesn't really *need* to open fully flat to place the guitar in it properly. Instead, I'd replace that section of zipper with a narrow rectangular panel, with an exterior rubber scuff plate, and incorporate some dense foam (with a cutout to accommodate the jack) in the interior. Yes, it would be more expensive to manufacture. Yes, it would be about a half-inch longer. Yes, it's a gig bag, not a road case. But I think the enhanced protection would well worth the cost. Nice guitar, completely different from the rest of mine. I like that it intonates reasonably well up the fretboard, is light weight, and has such a compact profile. And good scale length. I needed something to play in the recliner after an injury to my right shoulder/arm made it super painful to move. I bought directly from Traveler. Nice folks!

This is my second Traveler Guitar and I love them both. Such good guitars for the price. And the blonde EG-3 I recently purchased has an excellent feel overall—comfy neck and body sits well on my lap while playing. Every guitar player should own at least one Traveler Guitar.

The guitar seems well made and plays well the main problem is it is hard to hold steady without having to hold the neck up while playing. I managed to get around this by taking a strap and attaching it to the top of the neck on the hanging strap and the end through the slot where the tuners are. I put 53-12 strings on it as 47-10 are way too light. I was wondering if it was possible to have a small routed cavity between the the tuner slots with a small soundhole to give it just. Tiny bit of acoustic sound. I don’t plan to track with any amplification. Overall though it will do what I need while traveling to the remote areas that I go.

Light, compact, excellent engineering and build quality. Clearly built by guitarists for guitarists. If you need to keep playing even while traveling (and who doesn't?), this is a relatively inexpensive and effective way to do so. Great customer service as well. Highly recommended.
