This was my first purchase, and I'm not sure I got it right! This is a really heavy tool. I should probably have tried the 2-inch version first. I need some more practice to get usage right! I bought it to make the process of replacing control arm bushings easier. On the first item I was removing (actually a pass-through ball-joint in this case and not a bushing) the receiving cup was not right (needed to have a section cut off) and it snapped the ball joint ring on the hub assembly. The next thing I tried it on was a bushing, and this time the rod passing through the cups and tool sheared and shot across the bay. After that, I went back to using hand-tools and haven't used this again. When I get the courage to try again, I'm hoping for more success. The packaging and shipping were great, and there's no lack of power - just a lack of expertise on the user's side.

Ok-This is (or used to be) a five star tool. It's well made and by all accounts works very well. However, I am very disappointed that it no longer has index marks for crimping different sized cable. I thought I had gotten a defective unit. When I called customer support he explained that no indexing marks was the new normal and guided me to the web description on how to set it. He also explained the why of the change-that some people had trouble because they were rigid about sticking to the index marks regardless of variation in cable and lug thickness. I don't buy that. It would be much easier and faster for me to have the index marks as a starting point to tweak as necessary based on that variability. Frankly, if I had realized that the indexing marks had been eliminated I probably would not have purchased the tool. I did try it but I'm not sure if I will keep it. It feels like a clunky aspect to a very nice tool. I have two other crimping tools that have their own clunkyness but are both are more straightforward to set.

The dies have shown some wear after about a weeks worth of use. This is not of great concern considering they are still working well and the product has a 5 year warranty.

My wife has a pond for her two geese. This pump works perfectly for the water changes she needs to do and it stalls of the larger project I have of digging, lining and plumbing a solution. It works perfectly on many levels. We also have horse troughs that this tool works well for. Nice work on such a great product.

My son tried this out with an older cordless drill, and was not impressed. He then took out our older corded drill, and was gobsmacked! He absolutely raved about how quickly he pumped out stale horse tanks. We will be purchasing a newer high torque cordless drill for this pump.
