Gives good sun protection to face and ears and very comfortable to wear

In Japan, almost no one wears a helmet while surfing. 
I do use a GATH in dangerous spots, but it really stands out. 
SurfShell is very useful because it protects my head without drawing attention. 
I was worried that having a built-in helmet might make me look bulky, but when I actually put it on, it fits neatly. It doesn’t make me look big at all.

it has gone already off, after just one use. Luckely we found it back!

Great customer service

I have a very big head. I measured my head to be just within the size of their largest hat. I measured very carefully. It is very TIGHT and possibly too tight to wear. I will see if I can stretch it to be comfortable after a few uses. The strap is too SHORT to close under my chin so I have to modify that somehow as well. I think that may be a flaw because it is too short to make sense. Also the plastic "protective shell" was installed backwards. Not a big deal to reverse. If you have a big head like me and it pushes the upper end of the measurement. . . beware. If I had a tiny head like you I would probably love the hat.

I absolutely love my new surf hat. It is so fashionable, fits really well, stays in place, blocks the sun, allows for my headphones, protects my skull, and my people can always find me out there. Like it so much I ordered a second one!

The concept is great, but the inner protective shell really needs improvement. As installed, the open part of the shell sits at the back, which creates uncomfortable pressure on the forehead. I actually found it much more comfortable after turning the shell around, which makes me wonder if it’s a generic shell designed for another product rather than specifically for this surf hat. Another issue is that the shell doesn’t stay securely attached inside the hat and often comes loose when taking it off. I think this product would be much better if it had a shell specifically designed for this hat, with a more comfortable shape and a more secure attachment system.

Good quality and good experience! . It is a long way from New Zealand to Norway, but the sending didnt take to long.

I’m loving my SurfShell hat. Been using it for wingfoiling in strong winds at the Gorge. It’s been awesome. The front brim is solid in the wind and on big spills! I even get compliments on the water. It’s visible, protective, and stylish. A great design.

I haven’t use it yet but one of the safety rubber fell off already ☹️ — this needs a more secure, extreme type of double sided tapes.
