This was the easiest way to remove broken taps. Took 45 min, broke off approx 1” of tap and this bit performed just as they said it would. Will definitely use Rescue bit in the future if needed. The bit I purchased will probably work a few more times. Thanks Rescue Bit saved a big headache and ordeal if I couldn’t get it removed.

Awesome tool

I had a 10. 9 bolt break off in my engine block. I used every drill bit you can think of left hand, right hand, speed drill bits, you name it I tried them and they didn't work. My truck had been down over 4 weeks with no progress until I googled drill bit for broken bolt and Rescue bit popped up. I gave the owner a call and walked me through everything I needed to do and order. The order came in, I followed all the steps and less than a hours the bolt was nothing but metal shavings. The rescue bit got me out of a tough jam on my outboard. After snapping a heavily corroded bolt head and drilling it the problem was compounded with the attempted use of an 'extractor' which failed to extract and instead broke filling the hole with hardened metal. This proved impervious to 'hardened' drill bits I tried over 2 days with zero progress. Thinking I was probably the only one in the world to pull this bone-headed move I half-heartedly did a search and to my surprise found it to be rather a common problem. There were various bits and methods profiled in several forums but the most interesting and promising from the look of it (i. e. video) seemed to be the 'rescuebit' so I took a chance on it even though it certainly wasn't the least cost option. Really more of a dremel tool than a standard drill bit, after some experimentation I was able to get the feel of the bit and its method . . once I did I was able to clear out the material in efficient fashion! It's important to pay attention to the 'circular' motion and if it gets hung up at all, which it did towards the end of the procedure when there was undercut material, to STOP or else break the bit. Patience and letting the cutting action do the work payed dividends while following with the reamer cleaned up the hole. Re-tap and done. Thanks for saving me what would have been a much bigger job . . this will have a permanent place in my toolbox.
