I have noticed a trend for formulaic stories. It's as though the teacher is handing out essay subjects! A bit more originality would be appreciated. Please ask your editors to stop ending sentences with prepositions. You have such power to promote good grammar! I am not fond of stories in the first person - they distract the reader.
