Five Stars for the Delivery. The Cameras? That’s Quite a Story. On September 28, I purchased a Lorex security system: an NVR and two panoramic cameras from Costco, plus four Open Box cameras directly from Lorex. Everything arrived the following day. Fantastic! All I needed were a few mounting accessories. Simple enough. I started with Lorex’s online AI chat. It understood my questions and promised a specialist within four minutes. Thirty-four minutes later, a human appeared. The questions remained unresolved, and I was directed to telephone support. Five representatives, approximately three hours and forty minutes on the telephone, and several escalations later, we’d progressed from mounting brackets to junction boxes to weatherproof connectors. Somehow, purchasing a few accessories had become a matter for Head Office. Along the way, straightforward questions produced some remarkable answers, occasionally at odds with Lorex’s own documentation. I was assured that exposed cable connections would be fine as long as they were kept in the shade. Lorex sells cables with weatherproof connectors, but not the connectors separately. Instead, I was directed to Amazon, without a clear answer about the warranty implications. On September 30, Lorex confirmed in writing that a leadership representative would call me by October 2. October 2 came and went. No call. Head Office subsequently authorized four complimentary weatherproof connectors. An interesting solution to a problem I hadn’t known existed when I called. The connectors were never shipped, my installation questions remained unresolved, and I subsequently learned that Head Office couldn’t arrange the promised telephone call. Curious. The emails continued, each signed “The Lorex Team. ” I contacted Lorex Feedback, hoping a fresh set of eyes might help. No response. I followed up. Still nothing. On October 14, I found a telephone number for Lorex’s Canadian headquarters. At last, a new avenue! I left a voicemail e...
Easy to install
They have support people that don't know any more about the system than me. Calling tech support is useless.
Great shipping and service.
Bad
I am happy with my Lorex system but extremely disappointed with the doorbell and found technical support very frustrating. This is my 3rd doorbell in 3 months. The first two were defective. Technical support is poor and at times hard to understand and they are quick to blame the user. Better support is available by using an AI app.
I spent roughly around $1,000 + for wired cameras ( 2 for outside my house and 1 doorbell) and what a WASTE of money ! If I could go back I would have ordered RING which I plan to switch out eventually. The quality is POOR , doesn’t record long and you can take a while to even load “LIVE VIEW”. Clicking multiple times while feeling frustrated waiting to load. I wish I could get my money back (out of the time frame now) because it’s been a terrible experience for me . Definitely not a satisfied customer and would NEVER recommend this company. Please do your research and look for other options!! I wish I had someone tell me that instead of hearing it once and believing them . NOT WORTH THE MONEY
They have been helpful when I have nneded them
Great, love it
Works good
I was annoyed that I had to call Lorex to order the 4K dual-lens WiFi camera, but it was explained to me that this is to prevent certain camera models from being used for law enforcement and government use (e. g. Flock). I actually appreciate Lorex taking this precaution. The gentleman who took my order over the phone was very polite and professional. My call to tech support was less smooth. For some reason, I had to provide every possible piece of contact info, much of it twice, despite having just purchased the camera and undoubtedly being in the Lorex system already.
This is tough to score. Overall, I'm very happy. But I also had a very frustrating call with the service department, which could not help me resolve a door chime problem. Ultimately, I employed the solution I brought to them, hoping they could verify I was making a good decision, and it worked as I expected. IMO service should have been able to answer the question, and the delivered instructions should have included steps for two doorbells on one chime circuit.
Great product and fast shipping.
I always get very good service from lorex and have had their cameras for 8 years now
Delivered product as initially agreed when I purchased the product, haven't had to call customer service yet.
Lousy!
Ordering was seamless, shipping free and fast.
Bad customer service
Over the years, I’ve used both Lorex and Night Owl for my home. ( Lorex was highly recommended by my alarm tech) I have been in other homes with different brands - I heard their pros & cons. I prefer Lorex - but I do miss the older models that offered 18-20 or more channels in one unit- Sorry. Having to jump between 3 separate units ( all under Lorex App) is a little cumbersome. In time I need to update the Backyard Cameras - of course I will use Lorex - but it will have to be the newer systems you offer & a different App
After 10 years of installing and maintaining Lorex systems across dozens of properties, they remain one of the best cost-to-performance options on the market for anyone wanting high-definition, local-storage security. Highly recommended for professional installers .
