I live in NYC and went to the store and got measurements, but I wasn’t able to try on a size 2 there so I had to order a 2 in a dress I didn’t even want and pay shipping and return fees to make sure a different final sale made to order dress would fit me. Just seemed like a lot of work and money to spend seeing if a certain dress would fit me, when I literally live in the city they’re located in.

Loved the Ember Dress but had mixed feelings about my store experience. Set up an appointment in store to try on dresses & let the sales associate know my ideal budget & that I was open to trying on gowns outside the budget as well. I tried on 10+ dresses & she made it a point to constantly repeat “this one is outside your budget” multiple times for each gown - not only when she pulled the gowns but as I was trying them on. After trying on multiple gowns, I wanted to take a look at all the styles in the show room & the associate pointed out which side was in my budget and which ones were outside. When I saw Ember on the rack it was so beautiful so I asked to try it on, which is when the associate reminded me yet again it was outside my budget. Additionally, the sample sizes in the show room for Ember was a 10 and 12. I was in between sizes and about 5 months out from my wedding. When the associate recommended to me to order the size 12, I explained I had a shorter timeline for alterations and was planning on losing at least another 5-10 pounds to which she said to get the larger size anyways and get it tailored. While my gut told me to get the size 10, especially because the gown was not going to arrive until 2 months before my date. However, the associate kept pushing and I ended up giving in and getting the size 12. I am now 2 months out from my wedding, dropped my gown off at the tailor & now I have to bring it in 1 size. A size 10 would have been perfect & also saved me the additional $500 to bring it in. The gown itself is beautiful but my experience was mixed. I work in sales and can understand why the associate might have done that but from the customer experience side it was definitely less than ideal especially if it was communicated that I was serious about purchasing and I was open to seeing dresses outside my ideal budget.

I book a little white dress appointment on 5/2 and the stylist was amazing. She was professional and supportive and helps me to find the right dress in the right size. She also offered a snack and water to me as I was feeling dizzy in the beginning. I really appreciate that. Me and my friends had a great experience there.
