Best online purchase experience! Ordered a Rancilio Silvia pro X, bottomless portafilter and a chassi for silvia, talked a lot throuth chat, very responsive, respectful and professional! The portafilter was out of stock, got offered to be sent later, a refund or something else. I decided to wait. The machine and the chassi were sent in an hour, arrived to Israel in 23 hours!!! Customs in israel took just a few days. We kept in touch all process long. While waiting for the portafilter to restock, decided to order a grinder and filters and water softeners, again wonderful service, personal care and very responsive chat. A true delight of an experienced. I will be buying for life in this store and will recommend to anyone.

I agonized over which machine in the Profitec lineup to go for. I emailed and called Ciaran to discuss features and get advice. The clincher to go for a more expensive machine was when Ciaran advised "you'll have this for 20-30 years". Um, how old will that make me?! When I realized I would be looking at it on my counter for a quarter of a century I made a model out of cereal boxes, put it on the counter and consulted my wife. She asked me if I wanted a Blue Peter badge. Delighted with the machine. Even my poorest shots taste great. The machine extracts flavour so well that they have the taste and texture I would expect in a specialist cafe. I accelerate the warmup by pulling a few water shots once the boiler reaches temperature. I can disable the steam boiler when I'm not heating milk. The combination of temperature readings and timer on the PID, and pressure gauges mean I have good information on what is going on; on my previous Gaggia Classic (also bought from Home Coffee Machines, 11 years ago) I was operating blind. Conclusion: a better machine definitely gives better coffee, and it's more fun it you enjoy the process. BTW, I had a minor problem; turned out to be user error. But I called Ciaran and he helped me identify and resolve in minutes. If I had bought off Amazon or Brown Thomas, who would I have called?

ORDERING & DELIVERY Having had a very good experience ordering with HomeCoffeeMachines.ie previously, I was pleased to see that their pricing remains very competitive and that they still offer free overnight shipping on all orders over €50. Another big selling point for me is that they're a small Irish company, offer personalised support and even supply spare parts and a repair service for the products they sell if you ever need it. They're based in Galway and the shipping of my grinder to Dublin was very quick. THE MACHINE ITSELF AND USE The base frame of the Rancilio Rocky doser is the exact same as it's sibling, the doserless model, and that's a very good thing. It's weighty and feels substantial and sturdy; with a nice brushed metal frame. It compliments the Rancilio Silvia Coffee machine perfectly when parked alongside too. The things that I liked about the doserless model all remain with the doser model but it adds one new trick - it allows you to pre-grind some beans in advance and then dose the exact amount necessary into the portafilter. Each time you pull the handle, it doses 7g of coffee. Want a double shot, just pull the handle twice - it's that simple! Both the bean hopper and ground coffee container are dyed blue to prevent UV light ruining your fresh beans and grounds which shows a nice attention to detail in the design. PROS Grind quality - powdery smooth for espresso. Consistency - extremely consistent throughout each grind and when using different beans. Build Quality - robust and sturdy. I expect this machine to last a long time. My existing doserless grinder is going strong after years of daily use. Aesthetics - Slim, sleek design, metal frame that compliments the Silvia perfectly. Convenience - the doser model dispenses exactly 7g of ground coffee and saves you the hassle of grinding every single time. CONS Same as before, very few Lid - doesn't clip on or vacuum seal but not a major complaint.

Good advice on the items I needed and fast delivery. Also included an alternative cable without being asked. I look forward to dealing with Ciaran again in the future.
