It's witchery. Or advanced thermodynamics. I don't know but within seconds of lying on this plush mat, you can feel the heat radiating back at you. Decent size, decent weight, great comfort and heat. Fingers crossed for the longevity. If I had one niggle, the valve is very small so it takes a bit longer to inflate compared to sea to summit.
