I had a leaky shower faucet. The valve stem prevented me from using a normal socket and I could not find a plumber's socket that would fit the 15/16" nut. This valve stem fit through this socket and the square base allowed me to use a wrench to get enough torque to loosen the valve stem. Make sure to get the 1/2" drive, the 3/8" was too small for the valve stem to fit through.
