OK, for years I had two down vests from a major retailer. I rotated them and they lasted. I moved to Florida with just one of them, and realized it was no longer zippering up. I didn't think I'd ever need another, though, and then it got cold and I was planning a visit up North. I bought this. , which cost more than both combined. . . BUT it can fir easily in a backpack, it zips, it LOOKS great, and it's WARM. Mission accomplished.
