purchased my Dr. Dish brand new (over $7,000) for use in a high-traffic training environment. While the features and interface are strong when the machine is operating properly, my long-term experience has been disappointing from a durability and maintenance standpoint. Since purchase, I’ve had: A broken spring (covered under warranty) Two basket counters replaced Ongoing issues now with the HUD/interface Over $1,300 in additional repair costs beyond the initial purchase price Limited warranty coverage on major components The machine performs well when it’s working, but frequent breakdowns create downtime, added expenses, and interruptions to training. In a real gym setting where the machine is used daily by youth and teams, reliability matters just as much as features. For comparison, I’ve owned a Shoot-A-Way “The Gun” for 6 years with minimal maintenance, which ultimately influenced my expectations. Dr. Dish has strong technology, but in my experience it has not held up well under consistent, real-world use. I hope future models focus more on long-term durability and wear-and-tear reliability.
I bought this when it was 1500 (sale) and the delivery was an insane amount. If you hit the rim at all 80% of the time the ball will fly out and go somewhere. Then you have to stop catch the balls that are coming at you and go get the ball on the other side of the court that flew out. Obviously this is better than no rebounder but it is not worth the price. I would recommend looking at other options before you even think about buying this machine.
First year, small town coach and I hadn’t been thro the board process or anything yet. Derek gave me more than enough info to get it done. He didn’t blow up my phone but also checked on me or if any help was needed regularly. Would recommend buying here and hopefully you get Derek cause he was amazing.
I got the IC3 shot trainer. I am pretty satisfied with it. It rebounded about 98% of my shots. The only thing I don’t like is the way it sits on the rim. Basically it’s the rim rest that rests against the rim. The rim rest sticks out above the rim a little. Any shots that hits or touches the rim rest will be a miss. No lucky bounces here. It’s a minor thing but worth pointing out.
The customer service was great. Can’t wait to get it. We had a older model when it first came out and decided to upgrade to the newer version after 9 years.
