The insoles are durable and last for a long time. My son walks better using them as he is a toe walker and it takes some pressure off of him.

Pros: Excellent traction, great support, accessible zipper entry. Cons: Zipper placement makes the toe box entry a bit tight for larger AFOs. After years of searching, I have finally found a hiking boot that actually fits an AFO! Because of my Cerebral Palsy, I normally cannot get my foot into standard boots at all. To make this setup work, I ordered a women’s size 9 for my foot without the brace, and a size 10 Extra Wide to accommodate the AFO. The traction and support on these boots are fantastic. The zipper is absolutely essential—without it, I wouldn't be able to get the boot on at all. I can successfully slide my AFO inside, though it is a bit of a tight squeeze. My only suggestion for improvement is the zipper placement. If the zipper was moved down to the end of the toes (similar to the wrap-around style on Billy Comfort DZ High sneakers) instead of across the foot at the base of the toes, the boot would open up much wider. Overall, this is an incredible, life-changing boot for adaptive hikers, and I highly recommend it.

These shoes are amazing. Not only are they bright and vibrant, but my 7-year old daughter, who mainly uses one hand, can put them on all by herself. She loves them, she's able to be indepedent, and we couldn't be more thrilled. Definitely plan to order another pair. (By the way, we live outside the US, and my daughter's doctor recommended this specific brand - so clearly BILLY has a globally respected name!)
