I wanted to use it
I wanted to use it for a few months to review the RO Carafe unit I bought. Used it now for about 10 months and it has been great so far. The key to best use this unit is proper and timely maintenance. The scaling needs to be done at the right frequency. I also descale not only the unit but also the RO filter itself, which helps. The 2nd critical piece is knowing when to change the filters. I based on absolute min. months use or based on max. months used based on gallons consumed, so I have a range. So it has to meet 3 conditions for the filter change: min mos or max gallons and ppm is >=55 ppm. This has been a more accurate way to change filters. The water tastes great. The unit operates reliably if you are careful of how you clear, and position the tap tank and pitcher. I was skeptical at first, but now after close to a year's usage, I am a big fan. If there is a con, it would be the cost of the replacement cartridges a bit high.
