I waited three months for
I waited three months for this oven to be delivered, and when I got it after a couple of days, it got a black screen and was unusable. After submitting an email to Anova support over a week ago, I received an email back saying that I could only get a refund and should wait for a software update. If I didn’t want a refund, it’s pretty disappointing.

Claimed it was delivered when
Claimed it was delivered when it was not. On sale by the time my pre-order arrived. Bricked by firmware update - no replacement offered. Terrible experience.

I was really excited to
I was really excited to try out the oven; however, on first power-on, it had a software error that rendered the oven inoperable. I could not even set up my oven. The support was slow and non-responsive, and I am still trying to get the issue resolved.

$25 for something that costs
$25 for something that costs $. 10 to produce? Even worse, it didn’t fit my Anova. Found what I needed at a local hardware store for $3. Definitely doesn’t make me want to be a long term Anova loyalist like I have been for the last 7 years.

Three Anova ovens in three years. All of them failed.
The first started randomly rebooting mid-cook after three months. The second lasted five before the top element died. The third made it two years and four months—long enough for me to finally toss the shipping carton I’d been saving “just in case. ” Two weeks later, it was dead. No heat, no steam, no fan, no light. Just a big, dumb box with an LED display (that still works, at least). I got replacements under warranty the first two times—after plenty of back and forth. This last time started with a lazy copy-paste response telling me to thoroughly clean the oven using heat and steam and consider replacing the lightbulb—like telling someone with a blown engine and a shot transmission to get their car detailed and see if that helps. Inane advice for a unit that no longer heats or steams. I got the distinct impression that support hadn’t even bothered to really read my message. Maybe it came from a bot or, more likely, from someone just going through the motions of customer support—and poorly at that. There was no real help, no accountability, not even a token goodwill gesture like a discount or credit—just a lame “we’d love to help, but policy” tough-luck-you’re-out-of-warranty boilerplate, followed later by a patronizing suggestion to “keep an eye out for future discounts on the website” if I wanted to buy another. I don’t. Apparently there’s a new model now that costs twice as much as the old one. Is it twice as reliable? I doubt that very much. More likely, in a few years, a bunch of people will be stuck with an expensive doorstop sitting on their counters and getting shrugs from Anova when they complain. I used to recommend Anova to friends and family. Now I just feel like a sucker.
