During Advent I do many things to symbolize the season. I light only 2 strings of Christmas outside (the rest come on on Christmas Eve). I have battery powered timed candles in the windows symbolizing "we'll leave a light on for you so it won't be dark when you arrive. " In going through the catalogues I receive from the many Catholic supply companies I see Advent wreaths with images and figures of the Holy Family. And I say to myself, “no, no, no. This is Advent. A time of preparation. A time of waiting. Jesus hasn’t come yet. " I am so grateful I saw this statue of Mary with child not yet born, because I thought, “now that’s Advent. ” So I purchased it to be apart of my Advent wreath. Thank you.
