The beauty of the views from Villa Estrella is matched by the hospitality of the staff. First, on the views, we have all experienced pictures posted on websites that do not live up to the actual view once you get there. That is not the case with Villa Estrella. The ocean and tropical forest views are stunning. The villa itself is as nice as any 5-star resort, the infinity pool is a beautiful mirror to a beautiful sky. The staff is top notch. Our chef prepared lunches and dinners of fine dining quality, EVERY MEAL! As a family, we could not pick a favorite as each meal was as good at the last. One of our favorite things about dinner is that the chef prepared a different "butter of the day" to accompany the fresh bread. Each morning, our morning chef made sure we started the day with a delicious variety of traditional Costa Rican breakfast dishes. In case we were hungry between lunch and dinner, we also enjoyed an afternoon snack on the days we spent in the villa. Staff members always kept everything clean, attentive to any request. Everybody we encountered while staying at Villa Estrella made us feel welcome, from the onsite staff to our tour guides to our drivers to those behind the scenes. Our driver transported through rough terrain safely and securely and was readily available for one-off rides that weren't already built into our itinerary. (He was also very good at spotting monkeys for a quick picture!) Upon returning from a number of excursions that Villa Estrella organized for us, the bartender / jack-of-all-trades, Mich, greeted us with a cold towel and a drink - it doesn't get better than that! Mich quickly became acquainted with all of our preferences and became one of the family. He was totally in tune with both the staff and all of us, which made our time there truly special. My entire family of 15 enjoyed a magical week at Villa Estrella this last week of April, 2023. The house, location, excursions all were exceptional. The entire staff is amazing and helped us enjoy a special anniversary together in paradise! We would go back in a heartbeat!

We had a family reunion with 15 people ranging from age 4 to 68, and we LOVED our week at Villa Estrella. It's almost impossible to say which aspect we enjoyed the most--the delicious food, the absolutely beautiful home and pool, or the fun excursions. But all of us agree that the best part of the villa was the manager, Diego, and the staff: Mitch, Victor, Alberto, Ronald, etc. Each person was so welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. The answer was always yes to everything: another pina colada, a cooking class for the kids, more bananas. They enabled us to have the ideal family reunion.

We were 16 people with people of all ages. I can't express how beautiful this villa is. It has everything we can ask for. By far, the best part of our stay was the friendly staff at Villa Estrella. They were kind, patient, friendly. The food was delicious! The drinks were delicious! The place was clean. We want to go back soon!

The beauty and condition of the home totally exceeded our expectations from the online photos! The view from Villa Estrella is magnificent!!!! It was a perfect family vacation for the grandparents, their children, spouses and 7 grandchildren aged 1 to 12 years. The staff is amazing. Diego manages the home and is very accommodating and helpful with planning excursions, arranging massages, bringing musicians to the house etc ....... etc! .Alberto is a fantastic cook and the meals were like a 5 star restaurant and in addition , he always catered to the children's tastes and didn't forget our vegan son! Mitch and Ana served our lunch and dinner and made unbelievable drinks for us every day. Victor served amazing different healthy breakfasts every day and was continually refilling our great Costa Rican coffee throughout the day with his special expresso machine. There is additional staff at the Villa so the rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels were always available at the pool and in our rooms. Jonny , the driver picked us up at the airport and was available for all excursions . He and the entire staff were gems and never felt intrusive!! Our week at Villa Estrella was like being on a 5 star cruise ship with just our own family, which was exactly what we were looking for. We are definitely going back next year!! It was the very best family vacation we have ever done!!!

This was our 2nd trip to Villa Estrella and was just as amazing as our first! The staff was mostly the same and I think that says a lot. Any thing we wanted was answered with, “No problem”. The updated bathrooms were very nice. The service is fantastic and meals were to die for. We were definitely spoiled for a week.

This is an amazing house with an incredible talented and attentive staff. The food consistently exceeded our expectations as did the service.

My stay at Villa Estrella was exceptional! Diego, Michel, Alberto, Viktor and the rest of the staff were always welcoming, cheerful and available to help with anything needed. They did a marvelous job working with us to schedule our activities each day. And the food... oh the food! Every meal was delicious and thoughtfully planned. If you are looking for a place to stay with a gorgeous view, yummy food, effortless accommodations and an amazing staff... this is the PERFECT place!! I can't wait to go back!

After waiting close to 2 years from booking (due to COVID), we recently returned from spending a glorious 9 days @ Villa Estrella.  This was the trip of a lifetime!  Diego, Mich, Victor, Alberto and the house staff were absolutely amazing and exceeded all of our expectations.  As the title of the review states, the food, service and experience was off the charts.  Three meals a day of absolutely incredibly fresh locally sourced food prepared by Alberto, not to mention the endless freshly squeezed juice choices & cocktails. Diego went above and beyond to ensure each of the 22 members in our group were happy, comfortable, had all of our questions answers and had everything we needed. If you're going to this region of Costa Rica, there is no better place to stay and you won't find a staff that takes care of you the way this crew does.

Unparalleled service like we’ve never experienced! Everything was outstanding! The gorgeous villa & breathtaking views speak for themselves but it was the friendly staff, concierge service and the delicious food that made this vacation so amazing. Every meal was fresh, delicious and presented beautifully. Drinks were excellent & plentiful also. From the thorough cleaning to providing fresh healthy snacks after our excursions and cool towels, no detail was spared. Truly a trip of a lifetime! If you are considering a stay at Villa Estrella, look no further and book this property. The home and the location are beautiful, but that is only the beginning. The service and the entire staff are second to none, but somehow still very relaxed. The home has every amenity a family (or several families in our case) could desire, and they are made available to you from the moment you arrive. With so many positive attributes and offerings, it is very difficult to start listing all of them for fear that something will be missed. I have been traveling internationally for over 20 years, and I would easily rank Villa Estrella amongst the best 5-star experiences I have ever had (and this time my children ages 10 & 14 would also readily agree). Thank you to Diego and all the staff for making our family vacation one to remember! Simply stated, Villa Estrella is Pura Vida!!!

I can't say enough good things about Villa Estrella, especially the staff who work there. Our family stayed in the villa in March 2020, and we were constantly amazed at the level of attention, care, and pampering each of the staff provided us. The meals were AMAZING. Best food I've ever had on a trip. Several people in the family had different food allergies, and they were all taken into account for each meal. We also had children of various ages, and the chef prepared special meals a bit earlier for the youngest kids. Blair happily drove different groups to the beach or town or on longer excursions. Mitch made delicious drinks. We wanted for nothing. I highly recommend Villa Estrella and would return without hesitation.

I can honestly say that when we arrived at Villa Estrella, it was even more beautiful than the pictures portrayed on the website! The staff became part of our family and were always there with a smile, a cold drink or a gourmet meal. Our driver was excellent and willing to take us wherever our hearts desired. The meals and snacks were healthy and delicious! This was definitely one of my favorite destinations and I would love to visit again!

Luxury. Beautiful villa very well suited for 3 generations of family. Drop dead gorgeous views. We were totally spoiled by the staff: exquisitely beautiful and delicious meals; Mitch’s mojitos and margaritas; and, Blair’s superb and friendly driving services for wherever we wanted to go.

Our extended family, two grand parents, 6 parents and 6 grand children just completed a weeks stay at Villa Estrella in Costa Rica. We had a youngest grandchild of 1 year old all the way up to a 17 year old. The villa was very large and afforded the ability to have lots of different activities all at once. What a wonderful time we had! The website pictures don’t come close to showing what a beautiful or just how large and well appointed the villa was. And the staff was everything we could have asked for. All we had to do was decide the extra curricular activities we wanted and the rest was done for us.

One of the most incredible places I’ve ever stayed. First class.....rooms, facilities, staff, food Amazing Pilates/Yoga studio. Should be on your list of places to go.
