Great tea energy
I always find great teas here and the shipping is timely.
I bought this cake about 6 months ago (5. 5 years aged) and wanted to give some time to review it. At first I would brew this tea very short steeps in my gaiwan or tea pot and no matter how hard I tried I found the tea was a bit bitter. After aging 6 months more (6 years total) it seems to have mellowed out. Leaving behind its bitterness and bringing out a lot of the classic flavors of a solid Shou. It is earthy, musty, and warm on the palate. The soup is not as thick and velvety as others claim, however I still find it very appealing on the palate and remains flavorful for many steeps. I would recommend picking up this cake if you are looking for a solid- mid range shou to age and enjoy!

The 2009 Jinggu “Bamboo-Wrapped Long Brick” Ripe Pu-erh has a very distinctive flavor due to its 17 years of aging in bamboo. While that process gives it a unique character, it can be quite intense and may not suit everyone’s taste—especially if you’re not a fan of bamboo-influenced notes. If you’re new to this style, it’s best to try a sample first before committing to a full brick.
Another fine pu-erh purchase from Yunnan Sourcing. I've been buying from them for years, and will keep doing so.
