After many years of bottled water , I decided to install my own reverse osmosis water system . Ordered the Aquasafe DIY water purifier and installed it myself . Took some time to install and after a few leaks fixed up, am very happy with the purchase . Money well spent!!!!

The system is excellent once you stop all the leaks. There are a lot of screw in plastic couplings. You really have to load up on the tephlon tape as instructed. I had difficulty determining how much pressure to apply to the coupling without creating a crack. It's all good now.

Aquasafe since the beginning was awesome, I got my wife a RO system for Valentines day couple years ago, we moved a few times and the system still works perfectly, we tightened too much one of the filter casings, so we had to replace it, once done, it now is working perfectly fine again.

I replaced an Aquasafe system purchased off eBay about 9 years ago. I also got the booster pump because I'm on a deep well. Installation was straight forward. The only real problem I had was with leaks. All of the leaks were from the threaded joints. I used the supplied Teflon tape. For those joints that leaked, I removed the Teflon tape, applied a very thin coating of Teflon thread seal, applied 7 layers of Teflon tape over that, then applied another thin coat of thread seal. After this process, the joints were sealed. One thing I notice is that the pressure at the faucets is not as high as with my previous setup. I would prefer it to be higher and expected it to be with the 100 psi booster pump. It would be very helpful to have instructions for how to adjust the shut-off pressure of the booster pump. This is probably a simple procedure but I'm afraid to attempt it without precise instructions. Overall, this is a good RO system. Aquasafe is my goto for anything RO.

I've installed two of these Maximus II RO systems now, and a couple things to note; -great water, really makes a difference in how your morning coffee tastes -don't neglect the thread tape. When they say use 4-7 wraps, use 7 or more (until the threads are almost too soft to distinguish) -as mentioned, placing the system in/over a tray of some sort will save you a headache and cleanup if you do have any loose connections -once you've completed installation, shut your water supply off overnight and let the pressure "set". Check for leaks in the morning and turn your supply back on. I didn't catch one of my leaks until the second day. -I had to reset one of the collets - just pull the clip, then the collar, fished the o-ring out and cleaned it. Put everything back together and it was no problem -ORDER the extra 3/8" x 3/8" x 1/2" adaptor from the website when you place your order. This will fit directly into your cold water tap connection under the sink and save you from piercing a line, or finding out you can't pierce the style of cold water supply line you have Other than that, no complaints. I did do one filter change on the first system I installed, no real issues...though mounting the filter frame to the side of the sink cabinet made it easier.
