I’m not an affirmation type of person. I’m AuDHD and my brain does logic and order, and it’s not always kind to me. Repeating positive things to myself, even if I remember to do it, doesn’t really calm calm the noise and I’m more likely to notice something shiny and head off down a track. But I’ve always wanted some nice fidget jewellery. It’s not easy to find good quality pieces made for adults. Plenty of plasticky, child friendly things, but some of us are grown ups that want to look that way at work! My spinner necklace hasn’t come off since I got it. I reach for it more and more often now I’m used to wearing it (so now less likely to reach for the vape instead!) and I get compliments all the time! I chose it specifically, but decided to try a surprise bundle too, and accidentally ordered two of them! They’re amazing value, and I was so pleased I didn’t end up with two boxes of the same things! My trans daughter is beginning her journey, and I gave her the bracelet with the tag that says “The best is yet to come”. I hope she feels her old mum with her every step. I hadn’t known what I’d get, but it was the perfect message to gift her at the perfect time.
