beautiful tone. can still smell the burnt straw. easy to play and handle. highly recommended for a pendant version of a versatile musical instrument. The guide document was very useful. Simple songs offered for practice.

I live in the middle of Australia and it was delivered in 12 days nice and quick. It is everything I expected built tough and has a beautiful sound thats in tune. I am so glad that I bought this ocarina. I will buy my future ocarinas from Songbird Ocarina and recommend the same for others.

It was a brilliant idea to make an ocarina in the shape of a dodecahedron. Both my mathematical and my musical soul rejoice at the sight of it. The neck strap is very beautiful and rich, and the glaze is interesting. Sound is good, although it's not the highlight of this ocarina. Also remember it's a 5-hole.

Beautifully made ocarinas and the songbook is easy to follow. I bought two as Christmas presents for my siblings but I might just keep it for myself. :)

As someone who already does the whole "blending of senses" thing, had to pick up this ocarina to see how it'd interact. Turns out the answer is "fantastic"! The sound is beautiful - not nearly as sharp as other ocarinas of similar shape and size. Speaking of shape, the thing looks like a UFO made by a wizard. Which is sweet. Best ocarina EVER. :D

I’m on Summer Vacation with my family and before the Fall Semester ended, I decided to get back into Ocarinas. I purchased the Kokiri edition seven hole and was so pleased with it, I decided to ask Mom for more on my birthday. So I bought the 12 hole LOZ ocarina in starry night glaze, a plastic Brio Sopranoo and 5 or 6 ocarina booklets. The starry night glaze is about 15 dollars more than the regular 12 hole, but the price is worth it. The blue is a very dark royal blue with imperceptible whitening gradients to mirror a starry night sky. The “stars” themselves are like silvery white flecks. The clay on the inside of the ocarina is an unpainted white and it actually looks quite nice, like little white celestial bodies peeping out through the darkness. The ocarina is perfect for practicing along with the YouTubeer, David Erick Ramos, who actually transcribed many of the tableturees. The Brio soprano I have is incredibly tiny, in tune and loud! Mine is purple and I bought it with the necklace which is very cute, pinkish beads on strong purple string. It’s the perfect gift for a child if it wasn’t so complex. It looks charmingly girly withought looking chintzy. My only gripe is that I should have brought the alto as I wouldn't have to work my hands so carefully. I’m even using one of the books, Zfans, to learn musical notation! Thank you very much, Songbird.

Very easy on the ears, with a nice range of tracks from several cultures around the world. A couple that will be familiar, with many new ones to learn and discover!

After having spent roughly two weeks with the instrument and practicing just about daily I'm really enjoying it. It is pretty comfortable and the tuning seems to be on point as far as I can tell. It's easier to switch holes than I had thought which was a nice surprise. The zelda song book that accompanied the ocarina has been quite useful in helping me practice. It was also fun to see that the same person that inspired me to get an ocarina in the first place was the same person who transcribed the songs. Good job David "Docjazz" Ramos. The travel bag that I got is quite nice. There is padding so the ocarina is quite safe. It's comfortable and easy to bring along. There's enough space for like 4 ocarinas but I use the extra space for my kindle and pendant ocarina. Unfortunately the rubber band used to close the bag is a bit flimsy and mine actually broke off. I just sew it back on so it's not a big problem. The additonal song book that I got was for a 12-hole. It has actual notes as well as tabs so it's a good way to get into learning to read notes. There's also some basic music theory to help you out in the beginning. As I'm familiar with the songs in the book I found that the CD might have been a bit unnecessary for me. On the other hand I now have the music on a CD.

For my first ocarina, it was great. Usually, you'll hear that most plastic ocarinas are not that good, or simply sound bad, but this one sounded better than what I expected. It's pretty sturdy as well, which makes it perfect for trips. I wouldn't exactly recommend this for a professional player, but for beginners it's absolutely perfect.

Beautiful sound, very similar to the dragon tooth ocarina. It’s lightweight and easy to hold. Great for transporting and using anywhere. Inexpensive and great quality, ideal for beginners.

This ocarina is awesome. The rainbow colours are vibrant, the shape, feel, make and material are good quality. The music it makes is beautiful, sounds perfect. This is a top quality product and I'm very happy with it.
