It having just been getting cold enough to need to wear both the warmer (black) and medium warmth (grey) hats, I can unequivocally state that these caps are the best such I've come across. I was initially concerned that the flaps on the grey were too short and that it would let too much wind penetration. Both fears were unfounded. The flaps on both caps hug the ears very well, and I found minimal wind problems, while still avoiding becoming too hot. They both wore comfortably with the flaps tucked as well as unfurled. I would have gladly accepted some lack of style for such performance, but did not have to make any such sacrifice. I haven't had them long enough to comment on the durability, but they seem well constructed. For this and the perhaps the unreasonable desire for more variety in color or pattern, I refrain from giving five stars. Perhaps four and a half would be more fitting my feeling on the matter.
