I've been a Dilmah customer for at least eight years and have always been very satisfied with the quality. I always order $75 worth of tea to get the free shipping, but after my last order I began receiving bills from FEDEX for $8. 10. When I contacted Dilmah to inquire why they say shipping is free when it really isn't, they directed me to this notice on their page, which is technically clear, but which I didn't notice when I made the order because I've never had this happen before so I wasn't looking for it: "SPECIAL NOTICE: Free shipping is available to all countries for all orders over USD 75. Your local customs authority may or may not impose duty/taxes or inspection charges on your order, which are not covered by the price of the tea. " So,, although I understand that this is due to tariffs, I think Dilmah is being very disingenuous by their verbiage. I think a straightforward comment like, "Expect tariff charges from the delivery company on top of your original tea cost. " would be more transparent and clear. It should also be put front and center so people notice this straightaway. I also notice that I am now getting a fine dust floating on top of the tea, as I found out that many other people are now complaining about also, now that the company is being run by the son of the original owner. We I discovered Dilmah teas while we traveled in Morocco and found their Earl Grey to be the most floral Earl Grey I've ever experienced. I fell in love with the mint tea there and it is so nice to re-experience at home.
