Best Upgrade to my Ibis Mojo HD

I have had two upgrades to my Ibis Mojo HD that completely transformed my riding. The first was three years ago when I bought my first dropper seatpost, and the second was this summer when I installed the OneUp Components 42 Tooth Chainring. After switching to a single chainring upfront I had always struggled on the long uphills and the OneUp chainring eliminated that struggle. The only disappointment was that I was one of the people that ordered it online before they were even released, so I did not get one of the 16 tooth replacement rings.

      Cary from Hamsterville!

I have been running one of these I believe since March or so. It works great, with a clutch deraullier this piece of engineering opens up the 1X world to the masses that cannot afford the over priced top end items. Great company that really stand behind their product!

      great product

I was one of the first of my friends to install the one up 42t ring and it's the best thing I ever did. way cleaner cockpit and very smooth shifting. my other friends ordered later and got the 16t ring edition which makes the jump much better. I will eventually upgrade to that also

      One-Up 42 tooth

This has been a great product. I live in St. George Utah, and we have some amazing trails. I have used this 42 tooth ring a lot climbing to some of my favorite descents. My only fuss with it is I purchased it before the 16 tooth came with them, and my shifting has a prominent lag. I was thinking of purchasing the new cage One-Up came out with, but I have a long cage right now and I don't know if it will be compatible. Either way I have enjoyed the performance of my 42 tooth ring on my 1x10.

      its sweet

Holding up great almost a year old and running strong. I've seen the wolf tooth cogs the same age with broken teeth and heavy signs of wear

      One up cog

Works well-easy to set up, directions were good. Price is pretty steep however. Would rate it higher if it weren't $100.00.

      Great product

Only gripe is I wish they gave the 16t cog to early adopters that purchased prior to this being included.

OneUp 42-tooth: Worked well, wore quickly

The 42-tooth cog allowed me to rid myself of my front derailleur which I was very happy to lose. The shifting was smooth enough from the 36-tooth cog to the 42 considering the rear derailleur (X7 type 2) was not designed for a cog that large. The issue that I had was durability. Granted I ride a fair amount, but I wore out the cog (the chain was slipping over teeth) and the rear derailleur in about 9 months. Though the system worked well, I decided to move to an 11-speed setup that was engineered as a system vs the OneUp hack. That being said I know other riders who are getting more time out of theirs, but I believe they are putting fewer miles on.

Extra power for those bad climbs

love it. Easy to install. Works great once dérailleur is set up properly. The install manual was easy to follow. Nice work OneUp!

      Good idea, limited range.

Limited range for real world, poor shifting compared to a pure shimano system. I need a bigger gear range to climb steep hills and spin long flats. Not recommended.

      A simple and ingenious solution

1X drivetrains are brilliant for most mountain bikers (Cyclocross too). SRAM broke new ground with their gruppos. However, many riders don't feel like going "broke" buying a whole new set up especially if they already have a functioning ten speed kit. OneUp allows you to have 95% of the benefits of a 1X drivetrain at a fraction of the cost. Does it work? Absolutely. I built mine on my bike ('14 Banshee Rune) over six months ago. It has shifted flawlessly and paired with a Wolf Tooth drop stop ring I have never dropped a chain. I purchased mine before the 16t replacement cogs were being added, but I really have never noticed any issues. I do not hesitate to recommend OneUp. Thanx.
