Pocket Canyon performed well in Class II with a lot of camping gear. Slid over most of the (thankful) round, slimy rocks on the upper James at low water. One nasty, pointy rock snagged me good and had me worried I'd need a repair when I saw the little T-formX banner fluttering in the current. When I took out, it was just a dime-sized swirly with a little crease trailing off. So far, so good. Very stable, steerable, straight-tracking boat. Can't wait to get it on bigger water without the camping gear. Guys at ARC were enthusiastic and had me in and out of there in 15 minutes. Thanks!

Bought two boats at below what I would have got them on Amazon for and no upsell for other gear. The things I did need were discounted for buying two boats. Knowledgeable staff highly recommended.

2016 I ordered a Hurricane Kayak and service, product and delivery was outstanding. 3 weeks ago (July 2019) I wanted another Hurricane Santee kayak so friends could join me on the rivers around here. From calling Travis multiple times to check on product availability, to dealing with Parker on the showroom floor/warehouse, all the way to loading up a new kayak with some of the other crew, the entire experience was superb. I drove four hours round-trip to deal with Appomattox River Company and would gladly do so again. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to ARC for their kayaking or canoeing needs.

Was a customer but after my last experience with a rude manager in farmville. I will buy new kayaks elsewhere. Customer service is hit or miss depending on who you talk to.

I ordered a bonafide SS127 from Appomattix River company. I did some research first as I hadn’t ordered such a big item before over the internet. Seeing the reviews and the reputation of over 25 years of this family owned company being in business, i didn’t have to think twice to place my order... My kayak arrived at the Dallas, Irving terminal as scheduled...unfortunately my kayak was damaged in transit...(not Appomattix fault). I informed Appomatix of the issue and Vince took it personally up on himself to assist me, as they didn’t have the same color kayak in stock, they immediately processed a full refund...I don’t write reviews hear much, but I took the time to write a review to appreciate them and to support small businesses providing this kind of Stella services... I sincerely am upset that it didn’t work out on this occasion, but I will surely give first preference to buy or search with Appomattix for anything related to kayaks and fishing from them in the future, due to the outstanding customer service they offered as a truly family owned small company doing big things! While they did have a lot on inventory this place is very unorganized! The kayak I was looking for showed in stock but after hours of looking no one could find it. My second option was not listed in stock but what do you know I found one in their warehouse that they couldnt! I simply just left and went home dissapointed. *Update 6/22/19 - They found the original kayak I was after and I picked it up this weekend. When I pulled up it was sitting out ready for loading. The staff member that day was very helpful in finding and deciding on additional accessories also. Very happy this time around with my experience and purchases.

Stopped in today and bought 2 Perception 11.5' Tribe Kayaks, could not have asked to have been treated any better, the people there are completely professional, courteous, and have a great amount of knowledge about canoes and kayaks, they are very eager to assist you making a decision and have an unbelievable warehouse full of products. If you are looking for anything canoe or kayak related I highly recommend stopping in or visiting their website.

Purchased a Perception Carolina 12, in store, and this past Friday. Sarah and the rest of the Paddleva staff were very friendly and very attentive. It's almost a 3hr drive from Tidewater, VA, but it was we'll worth it! I'm thuroughly enjoying my new kayak and will definitely do business with ARC again sometime soon.
