The hard truth: I'm 50 and out of shape at every bit of 265 lbs and haven't snowboarded (and I was mediocre at my best) in over a decade; I was worried that the skills to ride my new Onewheel would be elusive. I was also a bit worried about going straight to the XL, but after watching so many videos and reading reviews where people quickly upgraded their boards, I jumped in with both feet and went straight for the XL. I so happy that I did. . . Riding clicked in all of 10 minutes! I logged about 1. 5 miles the first day, was riding flat/easy trails the second day. It's only been a few weeks since it shoed up, but I've been riding every day. I've been exploring all my local trails and am logging between 1 and 3 miles a day of mostly crushed limestone trails while I improve my technique. As for the board, I've yet to run into a hill it couldn't handle, even with my weight, but it still has the gentle responsiveness for a total beginner. As for the lifestyle: I love RVing, but would seldom take my Mountain Bike or E-Bike with me; hell even my trail scooter (too big) was too much of a hassle to drag along. But my Onewheel fits easily under the RV bed or even in the motorhome basement. This is not a passing fad/hobby for me. . . I'm going to enjoy using my Onewheel for years to come and bring it on every car ride and road-trip.
