I've used Spike oil to make violin varnish, but my wife hates the smell of turpentine. I think turpentine works great, and like the smell. So I bought the Spike. She went in the basement the next day after I used some, and said it smells so good down there. I agree, and it works well too. I really don't like the smell of OMS at all. Odorless? I don't think so. Clean brushes, loose paint for underpainting, good smell.

Just what I needed! I like the firm, natural Ox bristles for loose strokes, with some extra bounce due to the length. Not as firm as hog hair, but stiffer than mongoose.

This is my favorite medium. I use it because I love that it speeds up drying time considerably. I also love the gel because it doesn't slide off my palette and mixes easily into my paints.

Handling of pigments is lovely, variety and level of selection is perfect, I know of no better source of quality pigments.
