This test told me we didn't have a mold problem in our home. In fact, we did, and this test did nothing but provide a false sense of security that delayed us finding the problem for a couple of years. The disclaimer on the test results says it all: "The absence of alert conditions does not exclude the possibility of a mold problem. This kit was not designed to be a substitute for a professional mold assessment. " So what the heck is it good for then? It might be useful if you have very high levels of mold in your air, but it's apparently not sensitive enough to pick up low levels, and it's not a suitable replacement for proper ERMI/EMMA surface/dust testing. Save your money.

Using the mold detection device was easy to use. It certainly gives you peace of mind if you are concerned over potential mold in your house.

A great product, which seemed potentially intimidating but instead was very easy to use. I very much appreciated the ability to procure the actual results of the air quality/mold potential in my home. Awesome customer service--very responsive and, dare I say, that of a bygone era. If only more companies were this great to work with, we would all be much happier.

I've tried other kits in the past that gave pretty creepy looking results, but in the GOT MOLD blog, I read about the problems with those types of kits. GOT MOLD kits are reusable and the company cares about the environment. They recommend natural cleaning products on their blog posts, rather than nasty chemicals. The test was easy to complete and ship back to them. I highly recommend this company and their mold kit.

The test came back and matched the water damage in the condo I rented and the biomarker lab tests. The "professional" I hired his test came back blank with just a fungi. He tried to tell me I was "safe." I can smell it on my clothes and when I turn of the furnace its noxious. The water damaged that was not remediated spread toxic mold spores. The person who caused the mold was also a certified professional in mold and water damage IICRC, and left nearly 600 sf of water on laminate flooring for 5 days, not counting the days it was wet once it was pulled up. His actions created the mold. I wish they would take off clause that test do no replace a professional test. There was nothing professional about what happened to me. I recorded my tests to show they were taken on my property and left the camera rolling for the complete test. You don't have to go to school, the machine is already calibrated. So called professional mold testers and professionals are not family members, they are strangers and you don't know their ethics or morals. Toxic Mold is a bioweapon. and people may not realize they have mold & it's a causation of chronic illness. I am keeping it in my arsenal so to speak, like one would keep tools, or pepper spray or whatever for defense. This would be a good gift I am thinking for any friend or loved one. This is an ethical company and personally I never find ethical anyone, I hope they never change. I love Got Mold!! ❤️

The instructions are very straight forward and detailed! It was so easy to follow. There were so many questions that I had in my head prior to opening the package (ex: what about if it rains? do open windows affect the test?), but the instructions answered ALL of my questions! I really can’t believe this test was so expensive compared to the other ones on the market. It was so simple to do and actually gave me so much relief after I saw the results.
