I have been a longtime FINS customer, particularly of 40G, which I consider one of the best braided lines in the world. However, I recently experienced a catastrophic failure with my 80 lb 40G line while deep dropping. I was bringing up a relatively small fish—estimated at only 10 to 15 pounds—from a depth of approximately 1,250 feet when the line suddenly broke. As a result, I lost the fish and more than 1,000 feet of line. I have no idea what caused the failure, especially considering the relatively small size of the fish. I would appreciate your help in understanding what may have happened.

I bought this stuff to use as fly line backing, wanted something that wouldn't deteriorate as easily as dacron can, like the color black as it doesn't show dirt and wanted something that was somewhere between the diameter of 20 and 30 pound dacron, so I went with this stuff in 80 pound test. It's the perfect weave for fly line backing, in fact better than any of the companies products designed as fly line backing I have ever used. After installing a total of almost 1500 yards of the stuff on multiple reels yesterday, my fingers have zero black on them, no bleeding of color, nothing, it's just the right texture, not to stiff, not too soft and really just a great product for my purposes, made in the USA too! Will be my "go to" from here on out! - KB
