Very thick and comfortable mattress, as promised; just spent a week on it camped on stony ground, with some boondis nearly the size of my fist that I couldn’t dig out, and didn’t feel a thing. I’ve spent my life on various camping mattresses, from closed and open cell foam, to self-inflating jobs, to air mattresses, to bits of foil-backed roofing insulation, and even a layer of cut fern fronds under a log for a couple of days once (long story) and they’ve all been bloody uncomfortable and/or prone to catastrophic failure at critical times (see: fern bed under log). Not this one. She’s a good bit of gear that let me get a decent nights sleep after hard 12 hour work days. That camp had spinifex all through it too and while my legs got plenty of punctures, the mattress didn’t. Obviously a well made bit of gear. The other good thing was that the thickness kept me far enough off the ground that the critters that inevitably sneak under the mozzie net largely balked at scaling the heights of the mattress’ side walls to cuddle up to me in my blanket. I even evicted a scorpion from under the mattress one arvo who’d obviously decided that the final climb to my bedding was too much for him. It’s not going to win any fans among the ultralight backpacking crowd but that’s not who it’s for. It’s for people who thrash their equipment in the hard Aussie bush week in, week out and need it to last. She’ll do 👍🏼

Haven’t given it a proper work out yet, but feels solid, easy to use, is comfortable to wear, the lights are great and as advertised, and my girlfriend thinks I’m awesome since I bought her one too. Arrived in NSW within a fortnight. Win win.
