Picked this one up several weeks ago and I’m loving it. With a few modifications to tailor it to you, it’ll run like a top and very efficiently. Been into the 1911 for over 20 years and the 2011 is the natural progression of that for me. I consider this to be a 2011 based upon the overall layout so that’s why I refer to the Prodigy as such. The Springfield Prodigy is the better alternative for those who want an American made 2011 platform that’s not as expensive as a Staccato, Atlas, and the others. The Grip Module feels decent with that Sandpaper Texture, let down only by the Mainspring Housing which should never be Plastic with the repeated pressures it’s under. If you’re willing to do some tinkering to it with that skill set like me or have a compotent Gunsmith, this thing goes from an 7 out of 10 to a 10 out of 10. I give it a 5 star rating with all these factors in mind.

Great customer service

First time buying from Blackstone. The customer service was excellent, but it was clear that the ""brand new"" Alchemy Prime Elite Carry wasn’t exactly new. While it obviously hadn’t been fired, the grip safety was loose, and the slide had several scratches that went through the bluing—likely from being a floor model. I imagine quite a few people have handled this gun over the past year or two (it has an early serial number). Again, the customer service was top-notch, but I expected a pristine, new 1911—not one that had clearly been handled extensively. If it were a Glock, I probably wouldn’t have noticed. But on a $3,600 handgun, the signs of wear are more noticeable. I own several Alchemys, and they’re fantastic firearms. I'm happy with my purchase overall, but I wasn’t expecting the slide to have the scratches that it did.
