A lifelong hobby, refined. My system was fairly revealing (Roon Nucleus, Bryston BDA-3 DAC, Classé amplifiers, Revel Ultima Studio 2 speakers), but the LA4, in place of the 2008 vintage Classé pre-amp, was a revelation. Improved clarity across the frequency band; lowered noise floor, with much better low-level detail, wider soundstage. This was apparent out of the box (!), but I suspect there may be improvement with time. It's an over-used statement, but: old recordings sound new and fresh, with better imaging and truer-to-life tonalities. At this price, it's an astonishing bargain. Kudos, Benchmark!

Extremely well-built AES/EBU digital cable, perfect data transmission from my Onix transport to the DAC, very musical, no glitches or hiccups. Will probably only get better with further run-in. Fast service from Benchmark, would definitely buy again.

Decent cable

Thanks to prompt, clear and expert support from Benchmark Audio Sales Manager Rory Rall, as well as the prompt delivery to the cable, this was the perfect solution to the issue I was trying to address.

Works fine. Not as nice as the one that came with my DAC3 several years ago because it has more plastic and less metal. Way overpriced - for example I’ve got a nicer remote included with a $500 integrated amp I bought for my garage. Bottom line: I’m a huge Benchmark fan (DAC, amp, cables) and this product is the first I’m disappointed in. That said it’s fine and since I somehow lost the one I’ve been using for many years it’s good to have a replacement.

Fast shipping, well packaged, couldn't be happier. Prefer to do business with non Chinese companies. Will be buying more products from Benchmark and recommending them to friends.
