The shipping wasn't a great experience---the tracking said error the entire time, and it came a few weeks after it was said to. That being said, the vanilla beans themselves were excellently packaged and vacuum sealed! After opening the bag, their fragrance was heavenly! I'm going to be ordering more soon, so hopefully the shipping goes better.

I bought Madagascar grade B beans for vanilla extract and these worked great!

My pods where vacuum packed, yet there was slight coloring in the plastic. Several years ago, i. e. 4 or more, I purchased a larger quantity of Tahitian vanilla beans and kept the opened plastic pouch with the beans in a sealed glass mason jar. Over time, the plastic absorbs something from the beans and starts to discolor. As time moved on, the plastic pouch becomes darker and darker. Coloration of the plastic indicates to me something about the length of time the beans have been in the plastic. So when i received this recent shipment of 10 Tahitians, seeing the slight discoloration made me wonder about when they were vacuum packed. Had the plastic vacuum pack been colorless and clear, I would not have worried. My older beans' flavor does change, but they're still usable. It just to be that vanilla beans were sold, e. g. by Spice Islands, in long glass test tubes. I'd buy again from Beanilla.
