Few years ago I bought the Draumr hammock. I already had a inflatable Thermarest pad so I decided to save money and not buy the pad from Amok. I ended up crashing to the ground at 4am sleeping on a seashore because the Thermarest pad just exploded from the inside and the whole structure of the hammock collapsed for that. I managed to get a new Thermarest pad from warranty but after a while it also collapsed. Only after I bought the proper Fjol Ultralight pad from Amok I experienced how the hammock is supposed to hold you, distribute the weight etc. Before it was nearly impossible to sleep on the side and change to the other side - it was a tricky operation to balance the whole thing and you do not have a proper sleep like this. But with this new pad everything is very stable and the pad is properly thick. I have had the best sleeps of this year all in this Amok setup. Much better than any bed can ever be. So maybe if you get another pad exactly with the proper measurements you can substitute the Fjol pad but experimenting was more costly than buying the proper pad in my case.

Just finished hoga kuste leden 7 day hike. Used the mattress in a tent. I am almost 2 meters tall, around 120 kg. First time sleeping in nature with geet not dangling on the ground. Good for sleeping on the back or belly. On the side is ok to lounge but sleeping was not very comfortable for due to shoulder size. Good quality. Punctured by accident on the day 6 (pressed sharp object by accident), but managed to fix with provided kit in around 20 mins and slept the next night with the same comfort as before. Highly recommend

I purchased a package from Amok consisting of the Skjold 13 tarp, Draumr UL hammock, and Fjol Winterlight mattress. Shipping was incredibly fast. I could scarcely believe it when I received the goods in the UK the following day! After a couple of uses in persistently heavy rain, and strong winds, I decided the UL Draumr did not suit the conditions I regularly encounter when wildcamping in the UK. Not to worry. Amok’s 100-day trial meant I was able to easily return the UL, and buy a 5. 0 in its place. The process could not have been simpler, and I think this is fantastic customer service on Amok’s part. The Draumr 5. 0 is significantly more robust than the UL, and better suits my purposes. It also has less stretch in the fabric which makes for a noticably flatter lay still. Bonus! I have had several email conversations with the Amok team (both prior to and after buying from them) and have found them to be incredibly focused on customer satisfaction. They have been a delight to deal with, and I am extremely pleased with my Amok purchases, and the wonderfully comfortable nights I have had so far wildcamping in the Draumr 5. 0.

On my first trip I was looking forward to using the hammock. However the line that connects the mosquito net was not fitted correctly. So I had to use hours getting this isssue fixed. I can’t believe you pay so much money and the so pleat things are not in order.
