You can't get a better gun for the money. (Not counting the slightly less expensive model with the plain black frame. ) It has a very narrow grip and slide for a double stack 9MM. A little heavy compared to other brands in it's catagory. The reversable rubber back strap is a quick and easy, nice feature. Good accuracy and reliability. Typical Ruger, over built, so it should last a lifetime. Controls just small enough to not get in the way or pinch when carrying inside the waste band, but still larger enough for fast action. GREAT first gun for a beginner, GREAT 100th gun for a collector.

Great finish, very well made, a bit on the smaller side but that's ok with the overall smaller Public Defender.
