Price is what you pay, value is what you get; this sums it up. The Sandon 2. 0 ticks all the boxes in terms of Price, Quality and Performance. It’s suitable for everyday casual wear as well as business. With the upscale Miyota 9015 movement and sapphire crystals this watch could command several hundred dollars more in price. Two suggestions: increase water resistance to 10 bar; stronger lume. I applaud BG Watch for maximising the Canadian content of its watches.

Prior to ordering a Sandon 2. 0, I inquired about swapping the band to the Viamastra band. Mark responded quickly indicating that would be fine. Ordered the watch on Wednesday and receive the following Monday, very quick. The watch itself looks better in person, very refined look and is beautifully crafted. The Sandon 2. 0 is a welcome addition to my collection. Thank You.

I purchased the Viamastra. The watch is even better in the flesh than in the photographs. The build quality is very high, brushed stainless case sides complimented by a perfectly polished bezel and lug tops. The screw-in strap mounts are beautifully engineered, reminiscent of my Muhle Glashutte chronograph, such a nice touch! The deployment style buckle is very well engineered and, one of the best I have seen. The flat black dial with large silver Arabic numerals and the Viamastra name in red make this watch stand out. Signing on the dial, crown, caseback, rotor and the strap clasp are perfect finishing touches. Use of the Miyota 9015 movement is an excellent choice as it is similar in overall specification to an ETA 2824 but also slightly thinner, making the case quite low-profile. The 39mm case diameter is, in my opinion, ideal for most wearers. This is a very well thought out and designed watch, the execution is flawless and extremely impressive for the price point. As a "made in Canada" product, I am very pleased to be able to proudly wear this as a fine example of a locally produced mechanical timepiece. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good quality, well engineered mechanical watch in the CDN $500 to CDN $1000 price range, you cannot go wrong!

I bought a Sandon 1 with the black dial and brown Horween Chrome Excel straps option. I'm really impressed with the features of this watch, at such a reasonable price for a microbrand watch, but particularly given it's Made in Canada. Anti-reflective coated sapphire cyrstal, the sapphire crystal caseback that shows a nicely decorated automatic Japanese movement, screwed in lug pins securing the Chrome Excel Horween leather straps, BG logo'd clasp for the strap, clean design of the dial, there are so many things to like about it.

I've owned quite a number of watches but this watch is my first one from Barrington Griffiths. I bought it because of it's easy to read dial, 39mm size, nice looking polished bezel and case, excellent Japanese automatic movement, anti-reflection coated sapphire crystal, open caseback, top quality leather straps, and a at a very good price. Plus being a home town watch company was important to me too.

A great every day watch, with the convenience of an automatic movement, a sturdy build, easy to read uncluttered dial and a nice full-grain leather strap that has no stitching. I collect watches and have many I acquired in the countries where they're made; I am very happy to finally have a Canadian watch. I ordered the watch online and it was delivered to me 2 days later (I do live in Canada).

This is a very nice looking watch. I love the layout of the dial, and the red second-hand is a nice accent. The watch looks and feels high-quality. The leather band is soft and comfortable to wear. Mark’s customer service was excellent and shipping (to the states) was quick. I appreciate the fact that this watch was designed and built in Alberta; it’s a nice reminder of my recent trip to Banff.

I really love it, the rally strap is particularly attractive and matches the watch. Unfortunately, I have small wrists, so I had to replace the clasp, even though the butterfly clasp is very nice. There is no logo on the plain buckle, this might be a small development opportunity. Thank you very much!

The Modern Classic Reissued made for a marvellous birthday present!

I've always wanted an automatic watch, and had narrowed down my options to a few when I decided to retry a web search for Canadian-made automatics. To my delight, up popped Barrington Griffiths. I'd been leaning towards austere watches with blue dials, and so the railroad-inspired Sandon 2.0 fit the bill perfectly. I checked in with Mark on question regarding the lumes, and after he got back to me quickly, I ordered one. I received the watch just before Christmas (earlier than expected) and after over two months of use, I can report that I love everything about this watch. First off, it showed up with an engraved rotor - something that was not expected (but is now depicted on the website). This was a nice surprise, as was the inclusion of two spare screw-type band bars and two precision screwdrivers. Second, the watch finish is meticulous and the blue dial is gorgeous - as expected from the website images or better. Weight is perfect for me, and the band is very comfortable, working in nicely. Third (and not that important to me), the watch also gets attention. The first time I wore it out, I was approached at a restaurant in Montreal and asked about it (they thought it was a new type of Hamilton). A co-worker and watch enthusiast also noticed it immediately and was very complementary. All in all, I'm very pleased with Mark's customer service and his commitment to creating a classic-looking timepiece with no compromises. I'm also very happy to support a Canadian business! Very cool to see CANADA on the dial! Happy to contribute the first of what I'm sure will be positive reviews. Looking forward to what comes next!
