Booked with Captain Jared in August had the best weather conditions you could ask for. He took us out for our 8hr day and put us on some fish trolling then we switched up for bottom fishing with a great mix of spots and fish bring caught. Had a great time and will definitely book again!

We took a 11 hour trip and Captain Jared was Awesome. Was myself and 5 guys we all had a blast and a Great Day fishing. We caught 4 Wahoo and got our limit of Vermilion Red Snapper . Would Highly recommended using this Captain and we will be doing it again.

On June 29, 2025 I had the experience of a lifetime. We (my husband, his best friend, my nephew and great nephew). arrived at the dock to an extra friendly greeting from Capt. Jared and his son, first mate Spencer. Both my husband (Larry) and myself (Monique) have mobility issues, but the Capt. made sure we got on and off the boat safely. We were able to bring our chairs and he even allowed us to use his 2 personal electric reels. The ride out was wonderful and I caught my first Mahi Mahi. I was over the moon excited LOL. My husbands best friend King George (Capt. gave him that name) caught a 20lb tuna. We moved on to bottom dropping and the fishing was hot from the start. My nephew (Big Country) and his son (Cain) got seasick and that was unfortunate because they didn't get much fishing in. I caught fish I never heard of trigger fish, grunts, vermillion red snapper, and I'm sure I'm missing something. In my condition I was apprehensive about going but I'm glad I pushed on and hopefully do it again. Thank you Capt. Jared and Spencer for an AWESOME fishing trip

Jerad and 1st Mate Spencer are what everyone is looking for in a fishing charter. I have been out with them several times and they always work hard on locating fish and getting you hooked up on a variety of fish. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Wouldn't think of going with any other charter in NC.

Captain Jared and his First Mate Spencer were great host and put us on the fish! We were getting bites within the first 10 minutes of getting the hooks wet. Captain Jared was very prepared and patient a couple of our crew got seasick and the Captain had packs of ginger to help us all get back in the game and sink at least one fish a piece. We were a group of 4 and left with over 20 fish he fileted them all for us and even gave some advice on how to cook it. Great Captain and First Mate with tons of knowledge great family experience for kids and adults of all ages only charter I’ll ever take at Atlantic Beach!

To say that fishing with Tombstone Charters, with Capt Jared & his son first mate Spencer, would be an unforgettable experience, would be an understatement!! From the moment we met till the end of the day they run a class operation. They were even polite enough to laugh at my jokes. LOL. . from bottom fishing to trolling we caught fish all day!! Captain Jared and Spencer were amazing. They made the trip enjoyable, putting Mary and I on fish and kept an engaging and interesting conversation going during the trip. Been on other charters, but yet to find two individuals that worked harder to ensure that we enjoyed our trip. Who knew the 8 hours would go by so fast.

We had to book a close to shore trip at the last minute and Capt. Jared was more than accommodating than could be asked for, my wife had never been off shore or in a boat that size and especially with the weather we had seas were a little rough and it would not have been in my wife’s interest to go out for it would have ruined her taste for offshore fishing for good and Capt. Jared new this fact before I was going to say it we stayed near shore and had an amazing time even through the rough water ended up with 21 Spanish and 6 blues plus a look down!! I cannot and will not recommend anyone else to take you and your family or group out his first mate and son Spenser also done an amazing job he was fast on getting the fish in and getting the lines back out he’s a smart man and is more than willing to accommodate you as a group or a couple we will be going back with them

This was our 2nd booking with Jarred. 1st with his son Spencer his son as mate. They are a 1st class act . Absolutely loved our two days on the water with them. Thanks again Jarred.

Capt. Jared runs a first-class operation. He runs an outstanding boat, provides top of the line fishing gear, and has years of experience fishing the local waters. We caught 60 triggerfish, 30 beeliners, and 5 mahi; plenty of prime meat to bring home. Capt. Jared and his first mate were an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. Both were more than happy to share any tips or tricks they have picked up over the years and both worked tirelessly to put us on the fish. I have fished dozens of times out of Morehead City but this was by far the best fishing trip I have ever been on. I could not recommend Captain Jared Best and Tombstone Charters more and look forward to booking with him again.

We went out with Captain Jared for a bachelor party fishing trip and had the time of our lives!! We caught so many different types of fish and his knowledge of the water and the fish was exceptional! I highly recommend Captain Jared for anyone who wants to catch fish and have a blast doing it!

We found Captain Jared through a recommendation from a YouTuber we follow, Luke and The Outdoor Boys. After watching the videos, I saw how good Captain Jared was with Luke's boys and knew it would be good fit for me and my son. He did not disappoint! Captain Jared's boat is FAST and got us out and on fish in a short amount of time. Caught a Mahi in the first 30 mins. Could have caught more but my son was feeling a little green trolling so we stopped the boat and bottom fished a bit. We were reeling them in left and right. Caught plenty of keepers of different species and threw a bunch back. Including my son's favorite, a couple of sharks. As soon as we reserved a spot, Captain Jared called to pick my brain to see what exactly we wanted to do and texted during the time in between to prepare us for our trip, so great communication on his part as well. All-in-all, we had an amazing time and got plenty of pictures and video of our memories that will last a lifetime. Will definitely be back!

Had a great day on the water and caught our limit. Captain Jared took my brother in law and I out for a little escape and definitely didn’t disappoint. We got on the fish early and got to mix it up with some trolling, jigging and casting all in the same trip. Just can’t beat the knowledge you get from a local!
