I have attended Donna’s extended Bridge Retreat for the last two years. My game has improved due to Donna’s expert teaching style. The personal instruction makes a real difference. Donna explains the Why behind the What, a necessity for my comprehension. The accommodations are excellent, personal service provided by Lief, your personal assistant for the week, and delicious meals by Lacy, the in-house chef. Transportation is provided to Dallas attractions during free time. Donna’s home is located in a beautiful neighborhood, great for walking with a YMCA close by for additional recreation. From the moment you are picked up at the airport to the moment you’re delivered back for your return home, your every need is taken care of. Treat yourself to this first class experience if your are a lover of the game and want to improve.

Just finished my first retreat. Donna's knowlege and teaching skills are excellent. Her approach to bridge using logic makes so much sense. I feel like i have a better grasp of the game. Hope i can incrementally incorporate many of the things Donna taught. Leif was so attentive to every detail and pampered us daily. Once i get to use some of what i learned, i will be back!. Highly recommend this retreat.

Sandy and I wanted to improve our defense. Donna really delivered for us. She loves the defensive aspect of the game, and she is a consummate teacher. She has prepared written teaching materials to augment her didactic sessions in the morning, and exemplar hands to illustrate her points. She gets the concepts across incrementally in chunks small enough to digest, at a pace geared to the learner. Because she is a professional-level player as well as a teacher, all the concepts she teaches are current. She has no more than four students in a session so her teaching is customized to address each students' needs. She has a superb cook and another person who manages the non-bridge components of the experience. Sandy and I would definitely go back for another session of "bridge camp."

Donna taught me how to reason better when I play the game. As I play, I can “hear” her talking to me. Donna just makes sense. And, with her videos, I am able to continue learning.

An outstanding week. Valuable bridge lessons from a world class bridge master whose simplified complex concepts in an atmosphere that promoted learning. Daily well paced sessions included content and practice hands. Excellent supportive written material was provided as well as full access to on line lesson modules. Have noticed a positive difference in my defensive play even in the first week following the retreat. I am better able to place cards in the declarer's and in my partner's hands. Gourmet meals, luxury accomodations, attention to participants' needs, transportation to and from the Dallas airports and to local venues made this a special experience. Donna and Chris Compton, their Retreat Manager Leif and in house Retreat Chef Lacy provided true southern hospitality. I would definitely recommend this retreat to any bridge player wanting to improve their game.

As with many things in life, you don't know what you don't know. I attended the PBR and Donna introduced many aspects of defense and bidding that I am now exploring in much depth. She is an amazing teacher and the entire experience from the delicious foods prepared by the in-house chief and the 5 star restaurants that we also went to contributed to a magnificent week. All of the staff at this triple B "Bridge B & B" were gracious, engaging and always helpful. I look forward to returning next year.

I plan to return--this was a relaxing experience full of learning more about becoming better player. The gourmet food prepared by the in-home cook was an additional treat.

The four of us were all stuck in a rut with our bridge, making the same mistakes and falling short of our goals. Donna shaped us up and helped our play immeasurably. And we had so much fun. She and her staff are wonderful and the accommodations and food are wonderful. A thoroughly enjoyable learning experience! Can’t wait to go back.

The experience was great from many perspectives: the accommodations, the food, the hospitality, and, of course, the bridge. Donna has an excellent and effective teaching style, and is able to tailor her instructions to the skill level of the participants. I hope to repeat the experience at some time. Totally worth the cost.
